I love this speaker! Very loud and high quality sound that blows away many other speakers that I have. I have a orange JBL flip 3 as well and using the JBL connect feature to have full surround sound. It may skip every now and then or start a song a few seconds late but, it is probably something with the software. I listen to many different genres of music such as classic rock, edm, trap, old school rap and jazz. This speaker just is amazing has good bass, good everything! I have a jbl charge 2+ as well which is insane and has amazing bass but is not as loud as the flip 3. I also use these as my speakers for a small tv I have. However even though charging time is about 3.5 hours I found that leaving it on the charger for only about 10 minutes gave me enough juice for another hour and a half of playback which is useful when you don’t have all day to leave it chargingSound qualityThe JBL Flip 2 was one of our favorite speakers for a long time not just because of the low price, but also because of the sound quality. We were curious how the Flip 3 would hold up to its predecessor and weren’t surprised at all that it also sounds very good.LowsThe lows are nice and full sounding for a speaker of this size (and even some that are a little bigger). It can definitely be felt if you place it down on a table and let the external bass radiators to go to work. The bass in ‘Baby Blue’ by Action Bronson can be easily distinguished but isn’t overpowering at all.MidsThe mids were a little bit forward but just enough to make vocals and guitars a little bit easier to hear and doesn’t ruin the experience at all. Even background synths weren’t annoyingly muddy. Granted they were a little muddy, but not enough to be an issue and that’s only if I’m being nit-picky.HighsHighs get a little harsh when maxed out, but if you keep it slightly under max volume it’s perfect. In ‘Cinder and Smoke ’ by Iron Wine the screechy slides of the guitar will make your ears perk up a bit but if you lower the volume a little it’s barely noticeable.

Great small speakers with good sound

I purchased my JBL Flip 3 through JBL and chose a factory refurbished unit for a nice discount off of the original price. When it arrived I was expecting to see maybe a small scuff, scratch, dent, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to receive a Flip 3 in AWESOME condition! Not a scratch anywhere! My Flip 3 looks just like a new one would and was only about half the price.Upon opening the box it was shipped in I found everything was wrapped and protected favorably. Each individual part (speaker unit, USB cord, lanyard, etc) was protected and looked to be brand new to me. The main speaker was packaged in a way that it would be protected in case it was subjected to rough shipping and handling. BRAVO JBL!Now, moving on to the performance. Overall the speaker is great! I've owned the JBL flip 3 speaker for about 6 months short of 2 years, and I've have bene pleased with this speaker in every aspect important to me when purchasing a new device. I conceder myself a bit of a audiophile but I have reasonable expectations for a BT portable speakers, especially a device this size. Considering the physical limitations due to size and in how well a device can represent a frequency of sound that is being replicated bass is full, rich and has a slight "Thump", which I find for the size of the speakers to be satisfying. Treble or highs are clear and crisp but as most modern speakers the mid-range is excellent to exceptional, as expected with JBL. The speaker lasted a 3-6 (??) hours when it was new but the battery life is about 10 minutes (2 songs) until the power indicator hits red, the sounds starts clipping and the LEDs start dimming with bass hits... which is the reason I visited the manufacturers site; I attempted to upgrade the firmware, as I feel the battery should have lasted longer but I am still seeing the same symptoms. A quick google search brought me to a youtube video on how to replace the battery and a link to buy a new batt for about $25 USD. After all the abuse, getting wet (never fully submersed), dropped, and with the initial cost, I think it is worth attempting to repair.

After buying it, I took it home to give it a first full charge and powered it up. It has the same intuitive controls and design as its larger brother, and it super easy to use. This speaker seriously surpassed all expectations I had for a speaker under $100, this size and category. BOTTOM LINE: This is the best bluetooth speaker I have heard for under $100, is water resistant, super compact, rugged in design and will continue to amaze you with its near perfect sound balance. This speaker could cure your depression

I got the Flip 3 several years ago, and it's been an amazing speaker ever since. absolutely fantastic battery for a while. The battery started giving up the ghost, but all you gotta do is plug that sucker in. This thing will outlive so much. It outlived my ex. It's older than my nieces. It's older than the family dog. It's lasted more presidential elections than my healthy mental state. This thing will be old enough for high school soon.The sound quality is phenomenal. This thing can out-volume your whiny mom or your neighbors (they'll probably complain about how good it sounds ngl). You could probably play a song for the man in the moon with this bad boy.
