My old helmet expired after 4 years, so I figured I'd try something different. I'm glad I got this one. It has a fresh look and fits great. The Smart Shock is nice compared to MIPS because it doesn't pull my precious mullet hairs when I take it off. My wraparounds fit nice on the back, but I'm not sure I'd ride with them there. It feels as nice as a helmet I have that cost twice as much.

For my head at least the helmet is comfy. I’ll occasionally, like every maybe 3rd ride, get a little hot spot from one of the bumpers, but all I have to do is just reach up and bump the helmet a little bit and it goes away. This helmet vents so well though that it doesn’t bother me one bit. I’ve been wearing helmets for years from Troy Lee, and Fox that don’t vent one molecule of hot air off my head and to me that’s brutally uncomfortable. The Altec reminds me of good venting Giro helmets before MIPS liners restricted airflow over your noggin. I got the fidlock version and it’s ok, I never had any problems with plain old buckles so that’s a wash, but something else I do like is the visor, it’s just my personal preference but it’s just the right length and width to ... MoreFor my head at least the helmet is comfy. The Fox visor didn’t do anything and the Troy Lee visor was too long and blocked my vision, especially going downhill. I’m probably going to buy another helmet and store it in a dark room in case 100% stops making it. Again, it’s a personal preference thing but I really love how well this helmet vents. Ps. My head is 57.5cm, I bought a S/M and it fits great

Ridiculously weak visor design. Tiny plastic pins are supposed to ratchet 3 position visor adjustment. Pins on both sides were already broken off on brand new helmet. There is no way this visor would survive normal use.

Very lightweight, plenty of vent holes. Quick snap chin strap make this a pretty descent helmet. I wish it would have come with a helmet bag, like 99% of the competitors do.
I was a little concerned about purchasing this helmet after reading some reviews online that called out possible pressure points as the result of their helmet liner that works like MIPS,. I found ZERO Discomfort from this technology even after long, hot rides in So CA. I find the helmet to be very comfortable, light weight and breaths very well. Highly Recommend
Purchased this helmet after riding TLD A2 Mips Med/Lg, as well as the Fox Proframe in large for the past couple years. The TLD was snug in Med/Lg, and the XL was way too big. The Fox fit was much better, but the helmet sat low & rattled against my Oakley glasses. The 100% Altec is exactly in the middle of these, perfect fit & perfect form, works great with all of my riding glasses, and the design is fire! 5 Stars!
Received my order today, first thing the helmet looks great! After removing from the packaging and trying the helmet on the visor broke. This is meant to be an adjustable visor but the pins instantly snapped causing the visor to be loose and floppy! Poor
100% invented their own MIPS-replacement with rubber pins that hold the lining. Even when trying the helmet on for 5 minutes at home, several of those pins were pushing onto my scalp and leaving red marks. I have read reviews that say it's reasonably comfortable, so it must be a personal thing, but I don't like it. My old helmet is a TLD A1 MIPS, which is very comfortable, though quite warm. The 100% does appear to be very well ventilated.
This is a great helmet, the large vents make it for a cool ride as your head will never get hot. The smart shock is a safety feature you never want to see in action but is great to have it just in case. A small detail is that the side straps are close to your face so you can put your sunglasses over them and avoid slapping around. And you can fit your sunglasses on the back of the helmet if you sweat a lot on the climbs.
I ordered this helmet and was hoping to like it based on other reviews. However, the type of suspension inside the helmet caused it to be uncomfortable. There are little blue button-looking things along the inside liner and they protrude a bit and hurt my scalp. I keep my hair very short so I felt them even when the helmet was just resting on my head! I would imagine when riding they would really be annoying when hitting every little bump. I returned this product.
