Spent weeks doing the autumn planting with a handfork till my arm gave up, and with two augers sitting in the shed because my power drill was not powerful enough to use them.Finally I purchased a Dewalt 996 Cordless Drill Kit and I'm back planting. What an awesome combination !Makes planting so much easier and faster from small holes for bulbs to large, deep holes for trees. It brings out all the small stones and if it jams against roots, just slip it in reverse and it glides out.Not only that, I use it to take out weeds, unwanted seedlings, make shallow depressions around roses and shrubs to irrigate or fertilise. Works wonders with winding out the nutgrass too !I only regret 'killiing' myself when I could have been having fun !

I have been wanting to invest in a power planter for a long time. I want to establish my vegetable patch and to grow a few fruit trees. I also want to loosen the soil in the front native strip to put in a new lawn. With the power planter, all the above dreams came true. I highly recommend anyone who is serious about promoting our environment to invest in this tool. It is so time and energy efficient.

I purchased both. In the last three weeks I have completely landscaped my front garden beds. I have planted 140 bulbs and landscapes all the garden beds. I was dreading this because of spinal injuries and a recent total knee replacement. The auger works extremely well helping create mass planting and adding mulch / fertiliser to the beds. The combination of drill and auger are superb. I recommend this combination to any gardener. My soil is a combination of bushrock and deep clay. I am using the planter to also add clay breaking substances to the beds. In essence my gardeninjg activities have become enjoyable.
