2013 Boll & CIE Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne

A buoyant fluffy white mousse slowly subsides to reveal a pale straw coloured base with pale gold tinged edges that has a steady flow of tiny bubbles running through it. Richly scented the nose is filled with baked bread and yeast lees scents which are complimented by oily toast like notes, brioche and subtle honeyed cashew. The mouth filling palate is engulfed with rich baked bread, yeast lees and brioche flavours which provide the front half with a full creamy feel. Lingering through the back half are honeyed cashew elements, toast and chalky characters. Finishes dry with sculptured acidity providing structure. Concludes long and decadent. Drink over the next 5-6 years. Alc. 12.5% Other Reviews.... The mousse is vigorous and the bead really persistent and fine: it looks fabulous. Toasty, brioche, honey, citrus and baked apple aromas, so much going on here. Rich, layered, mouth-filling, creamy and long. There’s lovely weight and real complexity on the palate. A very complete Champagne. Drink 2023-2030. 96 Points Aaron Brasher – The Real Review
