What an aweslittle cook set and burner. Heats well and quickly. Pots are stable on the burner. So lightweight. It is hard to fault. The only things wish for would be having the handles close so they lock the pots together, and have a 'longer and stronger' bag to put it all in so you could fit a gas can in as well (im gunna make one). Overall, very happy.

I've only used this a few times but it's worked flawlessly every time. I've made dapper in the pots a few times and boiled water too. It heats up water in the large pot within a few minutes. The only gripe I might have is that the rubber on the handles isn't more heat resistant. I was silly enough to forget to pull the handles out and the rubber melted onto the metal, but that was my fault.

This stove was great for boiling water for 2-persons & stable for cooking with a small frypan. The orange container for the stove ‘top’ is awkward to open with cold fingers & need to be careful with re-packing to correctly angle the arms. It’s all very compact (minus the gas canister) & the folding pot handles offer good grip. There is a good seal when using both containers as pot & lid, & the pot handles can be offset to make it safer when removing the lid. Plenty of flame control, just don’t forget to pack matches/lighter.

The hard anodised finish is great, almost like non-stick, but durable. The pot and lid are light and strong (for aluminium). The pot just fits on a Trangia Triangle burner stand/windshield. The lid is too small, but it's a good bowl. I occasionally use them on the stove at home, for boiling eggs, or making a small quantity of sauce, or similar.Remove the handles and use a Coghlan's pot gripper - the handles are about half of the total weight, and their sticky plastic coating will just get burnt anyway. Their weight unbalances the pot a bit, too. The included blue plastic scrubber is just waste: it was shedding bits everywhere until I binned it. I clean the pot with just water and my fingertips, or a cloth. The included mesh bag seems to be made for a bigger pot. ... MoreThe hard anodised finish is great, almost like non-stick, but durable. You might or might not find it useful.Aluminium may not be as strong as titanium but unless you're using the pot as a car axle stand that's unlikely to be a problem. Overall, better value than some other sets out there.
I do multi-day hikes around South West WA and this was my first stove kit. It's great value for money and I don't understand why there are any reviews less than 5 stars on this product. Realise that for size and weight there will be limitations. it's designed to warm MREs in water, cook a small meal such as noodles or soup and boil water. It does these things really well. Initially I used the complete kit until I purchased a stainless steel Pathfinder drink bottle with a nesting tin. Now I just use the stove with the nesting tin as my cooking pot. I also store a lighter in the orange container as there is no piezo ignition.
I’m pretty sure I’ve left a review for this previously but just wanted to leave another. I bought this as my first hiking stove but last year I got a Jetboil Zip & haven’t used it since. It soon became apparent that while the Zip was big enough for me, if any of my family members came hiking with me & they didn’t want to eat dehydrated food, the Zip wasn’t going to cut it due to the pot size & the lack of simmer control. We recently went to Whitehaven Beach to camp for a couple of nights. Although technically not a hiking trip it is a boat in only camp which meant I had to keep things light as we had to carry everything & also cook up a storm for my partner & 2 kids. Although technically not a hiking trip it is a boat in only camp which meant I had to keep things light as we had to carry everything & also cook up a storm for my partner & 2 kids. Over the 3 days on this great little stove along with my sea to summit stainless pots & frypan, I managed to make snags, mash & veg & gravy, white wings cake in a cup for dessert (steam method using a little Zebra bowl inside the pot), bacon & egg muffins, chicken coconut curry & rice from scratch (absorption method), pancakes, porridge as well as cuppas. And I did all of that with my little companion gas canister that was already half used so gas consumption was great as well. Such a versatile little stove. Love it!
Pretty good. Just needs a couple of metal clips on the outside of the pots so you can clamp them together tightly when not in use. It would be a perfect, self-contained design with this feature. The mesh drawstring bag that it comes with is flimsy and useless. Doesn't hold up for five minutes out in the field camping. Other than that it's pretty good. Heats up and cools down quickly. Handles are not bad. Easy enough to clean. The included scourer is a waste of time, I use a small stiff bristled dish-brush instead. Easier to keep that clean and hygienic on long-distance trips
I was looking for a compact stove that was smaller and cheaper than a Jet Boil but could boil water quickly. I pleasantly surprised how quickly it could achieve this. It was on special at the time and was cheaper than buying the stove unit and fuel can stabiliser individually with the bonus of coming with the two pots. The pots are easy to clean and a pot scrubber is included. The kit is compatible with jet boil cylinders.
You won't be cooking for anyone other than yourself with this kit. The two pots look smaller in person. The burner is pretty simple. Make sure you bring a lighter, since it has no way to ignite itself. The pots are okay. Aluminum isn't the best thing to use. My eggs stuck to the pot pretty well, and the scourer is definitely needed for cleaning. My gas can also fits nicely inside the pots along with the stand, scourer, and a folding cup, so it's pretty space-efficient.It also takes about 4 minutes to boil water with the burner at about 1/6 of a turn I think... I'm not sure. I had it turned up to where it started to sound loud. If I turned it up higher I'd probably be wasting fuel for not much returns. I am so impressed with this stove, and the pots too! When I was assembling my kit for my first multi day trek, I was afraid of the money I would have to spend on cooking equipment. But then I found this deal and I just thought, why not!And boy what a deal. This little stove has served me faithfully on many treks now. I have rehydrated many a delicious meal with minimal time and no hassles. It’s light, boils quickly, and is efficient on fuel. I recently took it on a 5 night hike, for which I carried two 230g fuel canisters (4 season mix because it was cold) - turns out I only needed one. Everyday I cooked oats for breakfast, boiled water for coffee, and boiled more water for cleaning. Then I would rehydrate a meal for dinner, boil water for a cuppa, then boil more ... MoreI am so impressed with this stove, and the pots too! Everyday I cooked oats for breakfast, boiled water for coffee, and boiled more water for cleaning. Then I would rehydrate a meal for dinner, boil water for a cuppa, then boil more water for cleaning. I still have a quarter of a 230g canister left. The pots are also lightweight and durable, and easy to clean (providing you aren’t burning things in them). The smaller pot makes a good mug for brewing hot drinks (i.e. tea and coffee). My only wish is that they included some kind of clips on the pots so that they could be stored together a little better. The mesh bag can be a little awkward. I also replaced the blue plastic scourer with a steel wool ball. The plastic scourer that comes with the pots really isn’t great and should probably just be left out of the package to save on waste... I would imagine most people just end up chucking them after one use like I did.Overall, excellent value for money. At this price point, I really don’t know why you would be looking to spend more on a stove/pots.
