Because the pressure cup is independent of the liquid (the plastic liner collapses under pressure) the pressure intake system that enters at the lid does not get contaminated with paint. Because the paint is in the bag (liner) and not sloshing around in the cup there is no pressure release valve at the lid that needs to be opened every time the lid wants opening. The pressure release valve will get contaminated with paint and that requires a strip down for cleaning.

I simply cannot believe the comments that I am reading here. The 3M PPS cups have worked flawlessly in my business, particularly when shooting urethane paints like BM Advance and the SW Emerald version. So much better than the HVLP metal cup with check valve system. It has been flawless. The screen in the lid obviates the need for fine filtering paints before spraying which was time consuming and messy.Honestly, I can't believe these guys are complaining.

I am not a professional painter and like to do stuff myself and I did use the Fuji 4 stage HLVP spray system what I really like but the clean up every time after one small project was a nightmare. Yesterday I tried this PPS system and what a difference in cleanup. I also bought the small cup and liners and I tried both. It took me 5 minutes to clean up the gun compared to 30 minutes before. I also like that I now can see how much paint is left and prepare accordingly to not run out of paint when spraying. 5 Stars all the way and I also suggest to buy the cleaning bottle.

I use a Fuji Hvlp gun turbine and the messes I have made when spraying are epic. This all happens in my garage so I had to come up with a solution to the solvent and paint waste. Two tricks... this disposable cup liner system and a product called chemtool. Now I have literally cut my cleaning time down to minutes and solvent use to ml's not ounces. Finish my job . Recover the excess paint . Throw away the liner and spray Chemtool into the paint intake adaptor. Spray out the Chemtool about 3-4 times using less than 5 ml of chemtool then wipe the gun and done . Wow . Game changer for me . Love this sustem
I wish I would have gotten this system sooner. It works so well with the Fuji sprayer and makes It even nicer to use. I can keep several paints ready to go during a project and don’t have to clean everything between paints. Just the spray nozzle. Love it so far
I have used these in my cabinet paint shop now for almost two years for primer only and have gone thru more than six cups and they are not inexpensive. The problem with these is the mini check valve mounted on the bottom of the cup, about the size of a shirt button and its not individually replaceable. when this thing gets a little paint or debris inside it stops working and renders the cup useless. Making these available as a separate part would greatly improve this product. or a better design where the check valve is not on the bottom.
same complaint as other reviewers, the bottom pressure relief valve pops off after a short time. Occasionallt the product will get into main container which requires solvent to clean.Its just poor design, which is suprising because everything else about the system is spot on.please make the valves available to customers
The PPS system is excellent; you can hold the gun in any position, which is a huge benefit. This pressure cup allows me to use the PPS system with my HVLP turbine spray system. I have used the PPS system for years with my compressor guns, and it's great to be able to use it with my new system. I recommend you also get the small size cup. This small one is perfect for small jobs, but if you're finishing anything large you'll want to use the larger size.

The real benefit of the PPS system when used with most HVLP turbine units: you can now spray at any angle. I find myself spraying a lot of cabinets placed on sawhorses or work tables. This requires the gun to be tilted perpendicular to the ground. With the PPS system, I don't have to worry about material spurts ruining my work. This system, or one like it with pressure liners, really is essential to get professional grade results IMO. The only knock I have - this is a LARGE cup. Fill it up entirely and if you're working on any kind of a substantial project, your lower back is going to be very unhappy. This system is a must have in my opinion for the Fuji HVLP painting systems. It allows me to hold the paint sprayer at any angle which is a huge plus. It also allows me to clean up very easily. Don't forget to purchase the disposable cups and lids that go with this. I reserve 1 to put water in and spray through the gun into a 5 gallon bucket after i'm done painting. An added bonus of this system is that instead of cleaning out the metal paint cup of the HVLP system I simply remove the disposable liner and throw it away. This prevents a lot of paint from going into the septic system. You can use the same disposable cup for an entire painting session I usually only use 1 per day. This pressure cup is reusable and very sturdy and should last a long time.
