3M gave me a few sample of the Claw Drywall Hook in black hardened steel. Described as proven to hold 25 lbs. Wanted to install next to my desk to hold a backpack. While keeping bottom of hook against the wall I tried to push in the lower prongs into the drywall. I couldn’t get the prongs into the wall. I used as much pressure as I could. Tried a second time with the same results. For third try I asked my husband to install. He was not able to get prongs in either. The style of hook and the amount of weight it can potential hold are very appealing. Very disappointed that this would not install.

I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M and the company recently sent me a free sample of their CLAW Drywall Hook. The 3M CLAW Drywall Hook was just what I needed for my utility closet. This small closet doesn’t have lots of floor space so I was excited about trying out the 25 lb hook in this area to hang items that would normally have to sit on the floor. I have a handheld vacuum cleaner that weighs approx 10 pounds. As you can see by the photo, the CLAW Drywall Hook is perfect for storing this vacuum cleaner. Installation of the hook was quick and easy.

I received this item in exchange for my review. I didn’t like this. The instructions appear to show that this can be mounted with the push of your thumb. Not true. I had to grab a rubber mallet and even then it was difficult. The particular wall was my garage wall of a 26 year old house. The previous owner randomly hammered large nails into the dry wall with not a care so it appeared to be the perfect place to try this out. Once mounted it seems like it will hold, though I don’t have any items that I can currently test it’s strength. It seems sturdy enough.

I love the simplicity of the 3M CLAW Drywall Hook. I installed the hook by myself--no tools or extra muscle needed! The CLAW quickly and easily went into the wall and now holds my backpack with laptop and accessories. The CLAW hook is the perfect size to hold straps securely so I feel confident in hanging something as fragile as a laptop suspended feet above the floor. The matte black finish of the CLAW fits into an office decor and would look at home in the garage or throughout the home.I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M and the company sent a sample of this product to evaluate.
I volunteer to evaluate products for 3M, and the company recently sent me a free sample of the Claw drywall hook. The pitch for the product is that it can be installed with just your hands and that it doesn't leave big holes when removed, as drywall anchors and screws do. Both claims are true, but I found it helpful to use a hammer to tap the Claw flush against the wall, and I can see the usefulness of a level to keep things straight. Although the holes produced are smaller than the alternatives, they are still visible. If 3M hasn't already done this, I would suggest something to add a lot of value to the Claw: make the plastic cover available in different colors that could match other fixtures.
I received a 3M CLAW drywall hook to review. Right out of the package, it felt high quality and was a nice minimalist design. I tend to shy away from hooks for heavy duty items because I'm not a fan of using anchors plus even with anchors, I've (really my kids did it if I'm honest) ripped the hooks and anchors out of the wall. This one really easy to install without any tools. I've hung my heavy gym bag on it that gets used a few times a week. So far, it is holding up well despite my abuse and the abuse from kids and dog when they run into it going in and out of the door.
I am never keen on putting holes in walls. For this reason, I typically use tape hooks. I definitely had my reservations about the 3M hook. However upon inspection and installation I was pleasantly surprised. The hook itself is small and the punctures in the wall are fairly small as well. Application was pretty straight forward and easy. While my hook capacity is 25 lb. I hang my work bookbag on it. It varies between 5lbs and 15lbs. So far no problems what so ever!
I just love the 3M CLAW Drywall Hooks it was super easy to use requires no tools and installs in seconds. Just push with thumb in to dry wall and the claw holds up to 25 pounds securely no need to find a stud in the wall. If you remove the claw leaves only small holes about the size of a large thumb tack. Made of hardened steel for strength. I would highly recommend the 3M Claw for anyone needing hooks to hang items in dry wall that doesn't want to use large holes into the wall. The item description was just as described and I would buy it again.
I was given the Claw hook in exchange for my honest opinion. I love the sleek look of the hook in general & the color. When the product packaging claimed to hold up to 25 pounds I wanted to put it to the test. I hung my kids baseball bags on the Claw drywall hook & it held up well - the weight of the bag with balls, a bat, gloves, etc. plus plenty of space for hanging a helmet on the hook in front of the backpack. I also used the Claw to hang a camping chair in the garage. While this did hold up well I decided to use it for the bags since it was more attractive for use in a space people would see.
I'm fairly pleased with this product. Upon opening the package, my first impression was confusion. I wasn't quite sure how to set it up. After help from my hubby, we officially got it setup in my sewing room to hold some of my heavier items. It's holding up so far and fits nicely. As a renter, not leaving large holes in the wall is great to receive my deposit back. So far I'm pleased with this product and look forward to buying more to accommodate organizing my sewing room!
