When Spot Saver USA was manufactured in Turkey, it was a beautiful and a snuggly soft yarn. Beautiful to make garments, rugs etc; a lovely 10 ply. I would have rated it 5. Since being manufactured in India, the quality is poor. It is stiff and thinner, and the colours not the same. Such shame.

This yarn is very smooth. It's about a 9 ply. Not quite a 10 but a tad thicker than 8. I'm crocheting a granny blanket and it's so easy to use that I'm gradually replacing my other yarns with this. Using a 4mm hook but could use bigger. Lovely colours and a good size skein.

I have used quite a few rolls of this yarn . The quality is inconsistent; some balls are very stiff to work with , other balls seem to have quite a few knots throughout the ball and others have yarn stuck to the label and glue blobs on the yarn . However when I do get a good ball I do like it as it works up quick . I think spotlight needs to address these issues as I have read a few reviews with others stating they have had similar problems.I only recommend this product going by the good balls I have had not the bad ones

I've bought this yarn for over 7 years and am very disappointed with the lessened quality of it. It knots and bunches up horribly, ply seems to be unravelling in areas and black is the worst; scratchy and poor quality even after being "softened".For the price, I'd expect it to be better!
The navy blue/dark blue yarn is as stiff as a frozen fish. Have no idea why this is the case compared to the violet, light blue, almond and cream which are extremely plush to work with. Please be aware when purchasing, even though it may feel squishy when feeling the skein but not the case when working it into a blanket. I am using a 5.5 crochet hook for this and normal with this particular yarn I can go down to a 4mm. So I have actually had to go up a half size and possibly could have gone up to a 6 albeit it would have created larger holes when crocheting. I currently using a HDC and it’s incredibly hard to work with this dark blue. I also tested the HDC in a swatch on the light blue and it’s definitely the dark blue that is problematic.
I have used this ‘Natural’ colour for years and really have loved it. Understanding batch lots change in colour etc, but now the product is much finer and has a touch of green in the colour. The new product definitely cannot be used with a previous ball of the same yarn.
I have purchased so many balls(probably 50 balls) of this yarn in the last couple years to make beanies, as it was beautiful and soft and the perfect ply. Now the manufacturer has changed, it is rubbish. Alot thinner ans the colours have changed!!, and iys very scratchy, not pleasant at all. I am not sure what yarn to get now,. So so disappointing spotlight. From one of your best customersPlease go back to the original manufacturers.
Actually very disappointed with this yarn since spotlight has changed for buying from Turkey and buying from India.The colours are not desirable and some colours are quite coarse. Very upset as I was going to make an Essendon football club blanket and the red is too bright. The old red from Turkey was spot on.
Oh dear. What has happened Tommy favourite yarn for blankets.The USA Spotsaver was the best not so the NEW Spotsaver is just horrible. It's thin and feels like suchcheap acrylic $2 yarn. And don't get me started on the ridiculous price now.My favourite yarn is now trashed
If I could give this yarn 0 stars I would. Some skeins are soft and wonderful to crochet with, others of the same 'colour' are so thick and unpliable it is like trying to crochet string. Trying to buy the same colour is an impossibility - just about every lot is a different colour. It used to be a nice yarn to crochet with - now, I would not recommend it at all.
