Received as a Xmas present. I've now made my own sundried tomatoes and they're great. Most impressed with item. Great Value and item arrived in a timely manner.
I bought this last weekend. In the booklet it says tomatoes 8-24 hours when sliced to dry hard. I cut cherry tomatoes in half, and they took almost 80 hours to dehydrate, and that wasn't to hard texture, they were still slightly soft. Don't bother with this machine.
I bought this to bake tapes. My old reel to reel magnetic tapes were shedding lots of oxide as they played. I'd read that dehydrating would improve the binding of the oxide to the tape. This has worked to some extent. I've only baked a few and one has shown a big improvement. Lots of tapes to go. Sorry this is not about food.
The trays supplied are absolute rubbish. the plastic isn’t suitable to be heated and becomes extremely brittle, so much so they will break just looking at them after only a couple of uses. We use it to make treats for our dogs and thought this would be a great way to save some money, well how wrong was I. Save your self some money-don’t buy this product invest in a higher quality product
Recommend time for citrus is up to 16 hours on 58 degrees. WRONG. It took me over 30 to get the citrus to the point it had no liquid left in it and then after a few days in a jar i had to do it again for a further 5 hours
I'm on my second one and about to return it. The first one was used 3 times and died... fan still worked but heating element did not. The second one (Replacement) died the first day I brought it home... SAME PROBLEM...!! Absolute RUBBISH.... So disappointed in this product.
I bought this yesterday thinking that I could make some beef jerky at home. It was working fine at the start. However, the + and - buttons stopped working straight away.
