The batteries must have been stale dated. All 4 of them had very little power longevity even with low demand apparatus. We needed them for a live music show and they failed during the event. We didn’t return them because it would be difficult for proof and we had already discarded the original packaging. Duracell is supposed to be a good brand name, but too often we realise that once a brand name has been well established, the product quality diminishes.Quite honestly, we have had better luck with inexpensive “dollar store” brand batteries.

Irresponsible business practice - charge to recycle used batteries.

The 9v battery is fine. When I attempted to drop off used batteries, was told I need to pay. Batteries + Bulbs charges me to recycle my used batteries: irresponsible business. I was told the store must pay to have batteries recycled and they pass that along to the customers.I have spent almost $1,000 at Batteries + Bulbs over the past 12 months. Seems to me they don't want my business and I am fine with that.

Is a name brand battery better?
29 June 2024

I bought these for my smoke detector instead of the house brand I would normally buy 'cause they were on sale. But really, how do you know they're superior when you first purchase them? They are used for a vital application, so longevity and dependability are the most important criteria. I won't know for quite awhile if they are worth the extra cost. Truthfully, I've had good luck with the CTC house brand, so this is really an experiment. Since they're all made overseas (possibly in the same factories), is the brand really important anymore? How much of the extra cost is due to extensive advertising? Time will tell.

Not Happy With Return Policy
27 September 2024

I do not like the fact that this product cannot be returned if package is opened that is according to the information included. I say this because when I opened the package the battery that was on the right side of the package was damaged that is the connectors/battery snaps %26 part of the battery was smashed. Also there was a piece of transparent tape on the side of the package which I did not see when opening the package. I cannot even return to a Walmart store being that it was not sent directly from Walmart.

Unacceptable Condition!
19 February 2024

I purchased a box of 12 Duracell 9V Batteries to install into my 12 home Fire alarms and when I received my order it came thrown about in a plastic bag box broken and bent and all batteries safety caps off. which means they were touching each other which could have sparked a fire….Unacceptable!! I even found a few of the batteries dented too.REGULATIONS WHEN SHIPPING BATTERIESRegulations require packing cells and batteries in fully enclosed inner packaging made of non conductive material (e.g., plastic bags) and ensuring that exposed terminals or connectors are protected with non-conductive caps or tape or by other similar meanThis to me is unacceptable and won’t be using these.I reached out twice to receive a refund but was put on hold twice and then disconnected.

[Rewarded Review] Duracell 9V Coppertops
12 July 2022

I never knew people wrote reviews about 9V batteries for smoke detectors. I get a review for a chair, a laptop or perhaps a box of thank-you cards, but hey, why not batteries? Here goes.Packaging: Seemed very secure to hold the batteries in. The "easy open" tab did not really live up to expectations and resulted in a pile of torn cardboard, but we finally got in there and put our hands on the batteries.Branding: Good old Coppertop - love it. And, considering that the previous batteries were Energizer (probably because they were on sale), the distinctive branding helped me keep the new batteries and old batteries separate as I addressed my smoke detectors. Super job.Performance: The detectors are no longer beeping, so I really feel like the innards are doing their job. Looking forward to 6 months of uninterrupted use.Overall impression: Just a solid piece of equipment - felt good in my hand. Would buy them again...but only a year from now. In 6 months, I'll need to replace all the batteries again and will go with Energizer to make sure I don't mix up the old and new.

[Rewarded Review] Great batteries at super price!
30 December 2023

I use cheap batteries for some things around my home but never for my smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. I always use Duracell and I am never disappointed. It was a good idea to purchase the 4 pack to save time and money. When the time changed a few days ago, I was prepared to insert fresh batteries in my devices. Plus, these batteries last a long time and you get your money’s worth and peace of mind.

[Rewarded Review] Long Lasting Power
12 June 2024

We use 9-volt batteries for our handheld microphones. These batteries will hold up for many hours of use. It is interesting that the pricing was significantly better on these batteries packaged in a small paperboard carton versus retail hang packaging. All batteries are ridiculously expensive these days, so it makes the case that if you are spending that much money, you might as well get the good ones.

[Rewarded Review] These 9-Volt 4 packs are great for Smoke Detectors
1 February 2024

It is important to replace your smoke detector batteries often. These 4 packs are a great deal for yearly replacement batteries. Fortunately for us, we have 4 smoke detectors, so this pack serves us perfectly. I'm sure they last a lot longer than a year, since the Duracell brand is top-notch, but why risk it it? These are essential to our home safety and we will continue using them.
