Overall this little machine is good as does it work such as I had clay used for garden backfill, not levelled by the landscaper so huge lumps including rocks were left behind. After a long time I found this idea and ordered it digs out the stones/rocks too quite powerful. In no time it breaks the lumps, but the drawback is the power cord comes in the way and loosen after every few minutes so had to tie or hold and stop the cultivator not to cut the electrical wire so be very careful. Price is little high. I would recommend it

Love this little tiller, I have a large yard barren and baked from summer, I have been able to till and plant a lawn for autumn with just me and the tiller.Great quality and easy to assemble, I am looking forward to using for revitalising my garden beds. I took one star off because you do have to manage moving the cord, which is the only downside, however no need to store and use petrol.Yes I recommend this product.

Recieved 30 Apr, in good order and well packed. Used it to break up clay sod I'd dug up and worked well. Like any small tiller it's best on broken ground. Good power and easy to use. Make sure you get a good quality SAE30W oil, it will take a while to fill the reservoir so be patient. Use a good quality extension cord meant for outdoor use, don't use one for use indoors. Good little tiller.

Cultivator plugged
24 February 2021

The Aavix 320 is a great little cultivator for preparing my vegetable patch. There are not a lot of options that use 240v power, most others being battery or petrol powered. The problem with petrol units is that I really only use this once or twice a year, so the fuel would go off and make starting it a real pain. Same with the batterys, there is no point in charging them all year and they would most likely be flat when I wanted to use the machine. With 240v I just plug the lead in and away it goes. Like I said, it is great for what I do.

Does a good job for size and cost, a few design and documentation issues.

Caution: Make sure you fill the gearbox with oil before use, this is not stated in the manual and mine was bone dry, manual says to drain and fill in 50 hours. The things i like 1. It does a really decent job for its size and weight. 2. It has a nice retainer for the extension cord to ensure it doesn't disconnect while in use. 3. No hassle with fuel, spark plugs, 2 stroke oil and exhaust. 4. Just plug it in and go. The not so ideal / things that could be improved, none a show stopper. 1. The trigger feels very cheap, like it is going to break every time you pull on it. It did actually survive several hours of usage though. 2. The button to unlock the trigger is on the right hand side of the trigger / control box which mounts on the right hand side of the handle, it ... MoreCaution: Make sure you fill the gearbox with oil before use, this is not stated in the manual and mine was bone dry, manual says to drain and fill in 50 hours. The button to unlock the trigger is on the right hand side of the trigger / control box which mounts on the right hand side of the handle, it means reaching left over right hand to turn it on which is awkward and if you are left handed, deal with the control / trigger on the right, it is the only option. 3. It comes with 2x plastic clips to retain the control / trigger box cables on the handle, these are utterly useless, just throw them and use some cable ties (don't over tighten). 4. The bolt and nut used to secure the blades are the same size, usually such arrangements differ in size for those with limited tools (not a problem for me). 5. The oil drain/ fill hole is extremely small, it could easily be bigger, filling it takes patience. 6. As per the caution this review starts with, make it clear in the manual and add a red / yellow tag to the control box or housing to make clear it does not have oil and needs to be filled before first use.

Far better than expected
30 September 2020

I have an 8hp walk behind tiller which is uncontrollable on slopes . I needed to prepare a sloping area for seeding. The AAVIX did the job amazingly well and left a fine tilth. It is easy to move around and now gets used in the veggie garden and any difficult to access areas. A great little tool at an affordable price which does better than expected with power to spare.

Fit for purpose, light to use, stores well.

I have used the machine for 5-6 hrs in sandy loam and some clay mixtures to good effect, exceeding my expectations. It does need some oil in the drive gear before initial use. This isn't mentioned in the instructions, fortunately I read a previous review and checked. The rest of the instructions are fine. It is easy to assemble. The machine is light to use but can handle the odd bits of rubble and fragments of sticks. It mostly chops up dried grass runners but fresh ones tend to build up on the shaft, however they are easy to clear. It is powered by a brush type motor which is robust and has plenty of torque for the weight of the machine. I was sceptical of the quality of some parts such as the switch lever which seemed a bit iffy, however, it has performed well to ... MoreI have used the machine for 5-6 hrs in sandy loam and some clay mixtures to good effect, exceeding my expectations. It is a pleasure to own and will be used for many more jobs, on the 1/4 acre plot I potter around on, then was my initial intention. Thanks, Rob

Great little machine.

The cultivator works great on soil not too hard. Once it breaks ground it moves quite well. You really have to hold onto it. Its not too hard to maneuver although it is heavier than I expected. Machine has enough power for small jobs. The only complaint is starting it. There is a button along side the press handle that you cant reach with one hand requiring a two handed start. Probably a safety feature that I find awkward. I would recommend this product.

It is OK for light duty jobs in smaller yards.
21 September 2020

Overall decent for the price. It is light duty only, for smaller jobs, so you may end up needing to push down on it to really get it into the ground. One helpful hint is remember to move the wheels to the extended position when using it. That isn't really obvious but there is a pull-knob down by the wheels that really help if you extend it while using it so the teeth of the tiller can get further into the ground.

Works great
7 October 2020

It works great. I don't have a lot of strength being 60yo female, but have managed to safely hang on to this machine and steer it okay. It does a nice job of getting down to a good depth of the soil which in my garden is very compacted with quite a lot of rocks. One large rock jammed in the mechanism, but the machine instantly stopped and we managed to lever the rock out okay with no damage to the machine or blades. It does jump a bit when hitting rocks but as long as I'm alert to it and keep a good hold of it, all is fine. Having to be mindful of not running over the power cord can be a bit tricky, using only one hand to hold it while moving the cord out of the way, but usually not too difficult.
