Recently purchased a Diawa Exceler 2500LT. I gave it a good work out on Southern Black Bream on the weekend. This is a great little reel, Handled several bream around the 1.5Kg mark with ease. Drag worked very well & is super smooth. This reel replaced a much more expensive reel of a different brand that was accidently damaged & performed better! Yes I would purchase this reel again.

Nice reel. I own reels in this price range and its just as good. Nothing really sticks out about it. It does its job. Smooth retrieve and cast. Good drag. I'd be disappointed if there was anything to complain about but theres not. I own a couple pfluegers that are a little cheaper and just as good but i like the way this looks on my lighting shock rod so i spent a little extra.
Love the new reel exactly what I needed . Handles really well . The design is perfect, lighter than older models. Best fathers day gift . I will definitely buy another one. Keep it up basspro !
The box had been opened as if the item had been previously returned. The reel arm makes a grating noise when turning....not impressed at all really... especially when you consider the price I paid for this Penn reel which are usually very sturdy and reliable reels....
Overall, this is a very smooth retrieving reel. However, on the 10 size, there is a tendency, due to the strongly backward tapering of the reel from the base of the spool to the base of the bail attachment, for the line to get wrapped and wound below the base of the spool when retrieving. Not sure if this is an issue on the bigger versions of this reel. Best to manually close, not auto-close, the bail on retrieval.
Brought for my partner, he already has one but wanted another. To say the least that how much he loves the Penn spinfisher, we do a lot of rock fishing on the mid north coast.very sturdy reel and with the added feature of LL makes such a huge difference.
Returning. Rotor heavily biased toward base of spool, in fact the rotor line guide travels a good bit beyond the spool and wraps a few turns on top of the spool base each time (braid). I don’t see any way to adjust level wind travel or remove shims, so this pretty much makes the reel unusable. I saw a similar comment on a different site, so I’m not alone.I’ve been happy with my Revo baitcasters, but my first Revo spinning reel is a disappointment.
Great little budget spinning real.This really is a challenging real on bigger fish.l would probably up grade to bigger series next time for more gruntStill great for 2 to 4 kg range .
