I love this reel. I do a lot of kayak bass fishing in Michigan. This reel and my Veritas rod allow me to pitch and sling my bait around trees, rocks and stumps and burn it back in before I float into obstacles. I get twice as many casts and more fish by doing this. It's super smooth, light and easy to use. I love the quick open to switch the pitch dips on. Best reel in my Abu lineup.

First of all I a lot of reels so I’ve used a bunch over the years. Got my first Rocket several years ago and that was all I needed to convince me that this was going to be my new favorite reel in the boat. I have several now and for the price, there is no better reel on the market. I pick my rockets over some of my more expensive reels because the rockets are simply better.

Bought after all the commercials I seen in TV. Well it's been over 20 years since I bought my last fresh bsitcaster. Well it's a Rolls Royce of fishing reels. Casts amazing retrieves super fast. Excellent quality. Will be buying another one. Did catch 3 largemouth on it. Tu Abu.
This reel is called rocket for a reason! Pulls in 41 inches of of line with every turn of reel handle. That means that the ones that used to get away when they swam towards you had better look out now! Add the 18lbs of drag and you have an awesome reel in your hands. Contoured EVA knobs are a nice upgrade on this new model. If you're looking for a good to pull big bass out of thick cover, look no further this is the reel for you!
My very first casting reel was an Abu Garcia 5500c back in the early 1970s. I still have that reel and it still works perfectly. Now, over 40- years later the advancements in casting reels from all manufacturers are phenomenal. I’ve had opportunity to use other reels, yet I’m remain most impressed with Abu Garcia. Abu Garcia’s craftsmanship, engineering, and dependability are just too good to fill my rod locker with anything else. My latest addition is the Rocket. The amount of line this reel picks up is amazing without sacrificing power. I have this reel on my frog rod and when I get blown up, especially in swift current, I need to pick up line in a hurry. The Rocket does that and then has the guts to get em tonthe boat. Awesome reel!!!
One of may favorite times of the year to fish is during the bass spawn. This time of the year is around mid March all the way up till summer. These bass will be on beds and they like to surround themselves in vegetation. Having the highest speed reel on the market allows me to be more efficient. With the amazing speed of this reel I can methodically tackle a large area of vegetation and quickly retrieve my bait when needed when I pitch my bait into a bed. The reel is a work horse. I know when I pick this reel up, these fish better watch out.
Excellent stock reel. I found the thumb bar a tad mushy. I wish company's wouldn't cheap out in this area. But still a good product. I did upgrade the whole reel. Handle, star drag, bearings threwout all top of the line hybrid ceramic. And thumb bar. And now it's up to par if not better then most reels in the high range. But you can do this with most reels anyways. Still a great stock reel and I definitly recomend
I purchased the Revo Rocket in April of 2020. The 10.1:1 retrieve is impressive. If you are SERIOUS about Bass fishing, you need at least one of these in the boat. For flipping, Texas-Rigging, and anytime you move lures with your rod and need to catch-up to a running Bass quickly, this is the reel for you. I have the Revo Rocket paired with an Abu Garcia 7’3” Fantasista rod in heavy action. That combo is working for me in North Carolina and it will work anywhere. Bonus: the reel is easy to dial-in. The spool tension and magnetic/centrifugal brake are easy to adjust. My 12 year-old son can cast it! Put some 20 pound Trilene 100% fluorocarbon on this baby and get down to business!
I Have used this reel for one season so far. GREAT REEL. No problems. Its matched with a 7 ft. G looms rod. Can throw any bait a mile. Top water or buzz baits not a problem even with a slow retrieve. Can sputter along or rocket speed. Bass will jump out of the water to smash your offerings. Crank baits slow or high speed. No problem. This is a universal reel. Limited only by your imagination.
