Abus Bordo 6000K/90 BK SHFL Black

Six 5 mm thick foldable steel rods, connected by special rivets, folding like a folding rule - that's how it looks, the folding lock BORDO 6000. The idea is not new, the locks of the BORDO family from ABUS are now real classics, but their functionality is still unsurpassed. Made of specially hardened steel, the bars and housing offer high resistance, while at the same time the folding technology gives the BORDO 6000 a great deal of flexibility. The high-quality ABUS Plus cylinder also ensures a high level of protection, e.g. against picking. A soft 2-component coating protects the paint of your bike. The "Made in Germany" quality of the BORDO 6000 folding lock has won international awards, including from test institutes in Russia, Denmark and the UK.

Incorrect description, but still very good value for money ie described as Abus Bordo SmartX 6000k / 120cm Alarm Lock. It is neither a smartx or and alarm lock. The way it is described on the header for this review is how their ad should have been worded. $1

Fits very neatly on to my bike. High security level. So far so good... ;)

I purchased this very expensive lock with my bike on recommendation of staff for a secure way to lock it. Unfortunately I didn't examine it then or consider alternatives. When the bike was delivered the lock was already installed where the water bottle normally goes. On examination the lock was very heavy and not suitable for the way I need to lock the bike in varous racks. I was unable to return it because it was considered used.

Convenient, strong lock
23 November 2020

This is a strong lock that stores convenitely on the upright frame of our bike. It's mostly easy to use, but can be a little difficult at times if you don't get the key turned just right.

Great Lock
13 September 2019

I like this lock a lot, it seems very secure and well made and the mounting bracket really works for me. It can be a little challenging some times to get it through the bike and around something like a rack or a pole. It's very compact when folded.

Solid locks. This is my second one. It’s one length bigger than my first one. I feel very confident when my bike is locked with it.

Non existent Abus Bordo 6000 Folding Bike Lock
23 December 2023

I am being asked for a review of this bike lock which I ordered several weeks ago and supposedly received 24 days ago. In fact I have never received my bike lock, although I have paid for it!

Tricky at first, but good

Once this loosened up a little, it was no problem. At first I had murderous rage trying to unlock the thing for about maybe the first 5 times

Very Compact.
20 August 2024

I needed a very secure lock that was easy to use, easy to secure in the bike and be unobtrusive. The lock comes with a very secure holder that can be fitted via a bottle cage mount or a very robust mounting strap. It’s perfect for our needs. My only complaint is that Abus seem to use their own security rating system, which I thought met my insurers requirements. Sadly it didn’t as they claim the lock is Sold Secure Silver. It’s no issue as I plan to use two locks to secure the bike.

Very annoying locking system
12 August 2024

You definitely have to check several times that the lock is locked. The closing system is very annoying, there's no touch nor visual control it's lock.
