I bought the cable as a component and wheel lock on my Hiplock Airlocks as I started using the Hiplok cables for other bikes on the garage floor. Reasonably flexible and the plastic cover protects the bike from the cable.

Strong, flexible and robust. I bought the 2.2 metre cable so that I can use virtually an thing to secure my bike to; this includes lampposts, railings and even large trees. The cable is flexible enough to ensure that most parts of the bike are secured rather than by one wheel or the frame; thieves are not choosy; one wheel is better than nothing to them! Highly recommended.

Nicely produced cable - strong, great casing. Does the job. Could be a pinch more flexible for my tastes, but I use it all the time. Does what I wanted it to do.Would recommend.-MK
Nice length, not too long or bulky. A few loops and it fits nicely on my ABUS U-lock, and it also matches! You can loop one end through the other so you can use it's full length. Has a small Velcro strap so you can attach it to a U-lock, seat or frame.Recommended as additional security for your seat or wheel, not as your main security.I use it with the ABUS Granit X-Plus 54 Eazy Bracket D-Lock (120941-NA-BLK) and a padlock and chain for the front wheel.
Bought to add security to saddle, espy quick release, when coffee stopped. Also easy to loop through helmet.Clearly does not stop bolt cutters but some help with walk by opportunists.
Bought this hoping it would be like the picture, with one end smaller than the other so when coiled-up when riding the large loop can be kept in place by putting it through the small loop. Alas the one I received they were both the same size and so can pop-out while riding over bumps. The velcro strap is supposed to secure it during transport, but again it didn't come with this. So in summary, both ends the same with no strap and so not like the picture!
Cable is OK, well made and appears strong. its described as 10mm thick, but that includes a thick plastic coating. the cable itself is only about 8mm thick. If I had know this I would have bought the thicker cable.
Bike (and wheel!) thefts from our "secure" cage increased recently so I decided on a new strategy - chain two bikes together, chain all the wheels to the frame, remove the saddles and park next to the most expensive mountain bike in the park!Seriously, this product is the cheapest of the cables and I cannot see a reason to pay more. I had a heavy duty and more expensive cable before and the determined thief cut through it with no problem. This is why a cable is only part of a deterrent strategy so why pay more?Quality wise, it is OK. The red plastic pieces are not well secured but they are not part of the design purpose and really only there for neatness. This cable also coils much more easily than its heavier alternatives - easier for putting into a backpack.
Looks like Abus is using some exotic alloy for strength/weight 'cause this thing is way strong but only about half as heavy as the one I had five years and lost with my last stolen bike. Very much improved product!
