I was needing a new laptop for personal use. This checked all the boxes I wanted/needed. Touchscreen, minimum 8 gb, good memory, lightweight. Full number key pad, windowsoperatingsystem. And final search criteria, price. The only thing it didn't have was back lit keyboard.I've only used for a week so not sure about battery life. Set up was simple and fast.So far. I am very pleased with this laptop. I haven't had time to see what preloaded items may need removing.

The computer is really light and sleek and performs exceptionally well even when running multiple and heavy processes, which is why I like it the most. The main complaints are about the quality of the screen colors and the adapter cable that came in the box which is not manufactured by Acer. It has a short and very thin cable which I'm afraid I'll eventually need to replace sooner than expected for one with a longer and sturdier cable. I am also a bit disappointed with the battery which I expected to last longer when unplugged. Acer specs promised 8 hours, I guess that applies if you just turn it on and don't run anything on it. Anyway, overall, it's a good laptop for the price.

I LOVE THIS LAPTOP! As a (now retired) office worker I have used numerous brands of laptops; this is the best by far. I'm on Spectrum internet and this machine is super fast and responsive. The keyboard is nice without a loud "clickety" sound. The audio on music videos is pretty good and will play MUCH louder than my old laptop. I haven't tested battery life yet but I'm sure it's as advertised. I had considered waiting for Black Friday sales but this one was on sale at $499 and not widely available, so I bought it for fear it would sell out before then. The other places I checked prices, IF they had it, were advertising at around $475-$525 for refurbished. I use this for the usual social media apps and surfing. I frequently have 10-15 apps open and the 8 GB handles ... MoreI LOVE THIS LAPTOP! As a (now retired) office worker I have used numerous brands of laptops; this is the best by far. I don't think you would be sorry for buying this one. Again, I LOVE this laptop!

I was lucky to find this bad boy at $599 (down from $820). A six core i7 with a decent discrete graphics card for 600? Yes please. It's quite snappy, even with a regular hard drive. The form factor is even more slim than I expected and the screen is gorgeous. This laptop is perfect for productivity (running multiple VMs and this CPU doesn't break a sweat) and for light gaming. The delivery was quick, especially considering it was free and had to be shipped from a long ways away. The Walmart associate was friendly and prompt.
Absolutely awful machine. My last laptop has been struggling the last few years (it was about 7 years old!) so I sprung to buy the Aspire 7. The HDD in this unit bottle necks the entire machine and it's basically unusable. The Disk is CONSTANTLY running at 100% and it takes almost 7 minutes to restart the machine BRAND NEW. I've updated drivers, defragged the disk, even uninstalled the bundled Norton software because it was hogging Disk as well, but nothing has helped. Awful experience. I'm very frustrated and would never, ever recommend this laptop to anybody for any reason.
I use this computer for school, gaming and general internet usage. This computer has a very high performance, battery lasts a long time, and the visuals are extremely high. I really like how light the computer is, and I love the touchscreen. No negatives!
I had the worst experience I have ever had with a new machine. This shipped with what I believe to be a driver the continually caused a blue screen of death (BSOD) Brand new, out of the box. -Take the wrapper off -Hit the power button -Battery dead... no big deal... plug it in -Hit power button and windows boots -Initial setup begins, and windows starts asking me what my name is and so on.... -about 40 seconds into the setup... BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL -okay.... must be a glitch..... nope... again and again within 15 seconds of booting. I was able to fix the issue with a fresh install of windows, but cmon.. really Acer?? Had this been in the hands of any average pc user, they would have no choice but to RMA and possibly recieve another laptop with this same ... MoreI had the worst experience I have ever had with a new machine. Really great computer, I love how efficient it is. It works great! I usually use a developer mode professional Dell for work and needed a personal computer, this serves my need extremely well. EXCEPT the webcam - it is garbage. I did buy a small (maybe 5”) ring light to attach to the screen and it makes a huge difference - now I don’t live in the shadows and look like a zombie while on Zoom. Aside from the camera, I would absolutely recommend.
When i purchased the laptop, I was concerned by other reviews about the screen colors/resolution, build quality, track pad. I have not experienced any of these issues - possibly if you are a graphics designer you may need better screen colors. I am an engineer and do some signal processing and medical image processing and it seems to be very capable. The turbo boost from 1.8 Ghz to 4.0 Ghz is great. The chassis is very solid and does not seem to be flimsy plastic. I hate chicklet keyboards, but these have a good amount of travel, so they have a good typing feedback. I thought the trackpad offset from center would be an issue, but it becomes natural since it is centered on the keyboard. M.2 SSD is fast (~500MB/s from website) Micron_1100_MTFDDAV256T. It would have been nice to have a >=2000MB/s M.2, but that is probably not going to happen at this price level. I bought this right before cyber Monday at $630 and am very happy with the price/performance. Even at the original $800 price tag, this would be worth the money.
Pros: SSD drive makes it pretty quick. Has Intel i3 processor and good hd displayCons: No bad points really. Could do with bigger SSD drive but 128GB should be good enough for my purposes. Could have got 1TB HD drive version but that seemed to have inferior screen resolution and previous generation processor, although no idea what difference that would have made! All in all a pretty decent lowish cost laptop.
