My HP Spectre, seven years old, died and I replaced it with this one, twice the storage, twice the memory, faster processor, half the price. It's slim and light, lovely screen (same as my Spectre's, in fact). I saw reviews saying that the keyboard is flexible and with little feedback - wrong on both counts. It's absolutely fine. There is adequate connectivity (ports). Very well built.Overall, a lot of positive and no negative that springs to mind, and I've had a lot of laptops over the years.Recommended.

This is a nice laptop - good screen, very light and portable. However there is one issue that you should be aware of. I have had two of these in recent weeks. With the first one, after using only once or twice, both usbc ports, one after the other stoped charging. I spoke with tech support - they were unable to help with this particular problem and arranged for it to be replaced. Unfortunately, without mains power, I was unable to reset before sending back, which I wasn't too happy about. I received the replacement and it did exactly the same thing! I spoke to tech support again who offered a refund or replacement. However, I decided to take it to tech support in-store. They didn't know what the problem was either, but the usbc port came back to life in-store. I ... MoreThis is a nice laptop - good screen, very light and portable. They didn't know what the problem was either, but the usbc port came back to life in-store. I considered still changing it, but preferred this laptop to others in store so decided to keep it (at least for the present). Two days later - same thing! After an exhaustive search online, before returning ithis second laptop, I saw a post that resolved it. There is a tiny hole on the underside of the laptop that is used to reset the battery - you need to use one of these small sim removal tools. That did the trick and I have only had to do it once since then. However, you would be stuck without one of these tools. There was no information whatsoever with the product and I think there must have been many returns like mine for this reason. Who would think to look for a tiny hole to reset the battery, or the need to? Certainly not me, nor tech support.Other cons - 'tinny' feel to touchpad and keys a little 'bouncy'. Very minor issues however and I still like the screen and portability compared to competitors. However, if this issue with the battery reset becomes more of an issue, I will seek to return it.

Review of ACER Swift Edge 16 Laptop - AMD Ryzen 7 1 TB SSD Black

This is a lightweight laptop with a fabulous OLED screen and high resolution with great colour and clarity. The AMD processor and graphics works well. Although I did note that Windows boots without too much delay to the login prompt (once configured) I use the laptop as a dual boot machine, and most of the time run Arch Linux as the operating system, which boots within a few seconds. The backlit keyboard works well in low light environments, and the touchpad is excellent and responsive. The initial order took less than 24 hours from completing the order process to being notified that it was available for collection in store, so I could not ask for more. The nvme ssd storage is fast, and the laptop does everything I need without any noticeable delay to complete ... MoreThis is a lightweight laptop with a fabulous OLED screen and high resolution with great colour and clarity. The only negative is that the fans come on when the CPUs are using quite small fractions of their capacity, and it would be nice to have more control over when the fans come on.Overall I am very pleased with this laptop, and hopefully it will last well without any problems into the next few years.

Runs like a dream. I use it for development, and it was easy enough to dual boot it with Linux. No compatibility problems, setup was easy. The screen is beautiful. Battery life is good, but not amazing. Overall a 9/10

[Rewarded Review] Great OLED image!
30 May 2024

Very happy with this 16" laptop, it is significantly lighter than my previous ACER laptop from 2018! The OLED screen is the reason I bought it, & I'm enjoying it to the fullest. DotA 2 runs well on this laptop, so if you're a MOBA fan, buy & enjoy!
