Its not better than expected but thats the only option given on the reviews now! You have to press yes or no. If you press yes they ask you why its better than expected. If you press no it sounds like a complaint. Its a no-win situation for the purchaser. The product looks/feels good quality. Delivery was very quick but I havent actually tried it yet. I started using this with my German Shepherd puppy because she responds to whistling and I cant whistle! It works great! Found which pitch she responded to and within a couple days of training her recall was almost perfect. Great, well made tool and worth the cost.

I purchased this dog whistle because I walk my dog on the beach each day & often it's windy. Then, she doesn't hear when I call out for her to come. The whistle cuts through the wind & she responds immediately, with minimum effort on my part. To begin with I couldn't workout how to open the whistle, but checking on u-tube solved that problem. My dog is a house pet not a working dog, so I only use it to attract her attention when I want her to 'come', not for complicated instructions. I read somewhere to buy a second whistle, as I was sure to misplace this one at some stage, and this I intend to do. The whistle is pricy, but good quality. I feel worth the money.
Works well on our puppy. You’ll need a small screwdriver to lock off the adjustment but only need to do this a couple of times while getting the pitch right. It’s sturdy and the cover is a good fit. After only a few short sessions the puppy is responding to the ‘come here’ signal.
Super quality. This would I am sure survive lots of use in all sorts of weather. The adjustment for whistle level is good and certainly at 200 hundred yards it was no problem for my dog to respond ( rewarded with a treat on returning to me !) I bought a separate lanyard to attach to the whistle which made it really easy to hang around the neck for hands free walking, and it is very light to wear. Overall delighted with the whistle and I am glad I paid a little more money which was reflected in the quality of the whistle.
Due to my chihuahua becoming protective, alerting me to any noise, person, etc. by constant barking, Ive tried 3 different dog whistles. The 1st was a joke, the 2nd, another Acme plastic product, worked well but the pitch also affected other people in the home in an extremely bad way. This model not only works, but doesnt affect anyone in the home. Its very well constructed.
Acme are a long-established British company. They have made whistles for the police, football referees, the trenches in WW1 and WW2. Also they have made fine quality dog whistles for control/behaviour, and also to command/direct/communicate with sheepdogs and working dogs. I used this whistle to change the behaviour of a dog which has .barking/behavioural problems - it is a good training aid. The whistle is very well-made, better than generic imports - and it is built to last a lifetime. As long as I dont lose this one, I wont need another. Buy British, buy the best. I recommend this product.
I already have an Acme red plastic whistle that my dog responds to really quite well. I felt that the Silent version would be more professional but my dog does not yet have the same interest in this as the red one. I am aware that I will need to adjust his training to suit the different tone. I am currently using the fourth bar setting. Another dog that he plays with does come to the silent whistle very well, with no training. That dogs owner was impressed with the way she responded to the red whistle and bought an Acme Black one. She is not really working well to that tone. More work to be done.
I am seriously amazed at how well this works. I bought it because my neighbor has 2 huge dogs that bark continuously. In just a few days of blowing the whistle when I heard them barking the frequency has dropped dramatically. I imagine a few weeks of this and they will stop altogether. I am delighted.
