If you love a good strategy game Acquire is a great game! Very fun to play. I will say that the newer version isn't as easy to read with just the raised writing. If they were a different color it would be easier!

My husband and I have the original version and it is our favorite board game. We found it on ebay at a super price. It is a very interesting game, I dared to say that it is better than Monopoly.

Great casual play strategy game. Simple to learn, mechanics are very basic, but has good replay value due to random nature of tile draws.

This strategic game was very different from the typical baord games I've played. Picture this like a more complex version of monopoly, with alittle bit of strategy and luck. You can win this game by playing the short-term, or the long term. Though it was a little tricky for me to understand at first, we played a second game right afterwards because it was such a good time and we finally got it! I would recommend this game, though it may not appeal to everyone's inerest since it's more "business" like in nature.

It is a game that is perfect for the whole family to play, although I would say not good for very young children. The rules are simple enough to understand but it does have a ton of pieces for it. The box itself is somewhat hard to pack so maybe making the box a bit more organized, including more baggies to put game pieces in would be a bit better.

Acquire Game

Ask for pictures . . . of inside things, including the board. THe original is a yellow plastic board, with grooves for the tiles to fit into. THis newer version is awful....a cardboard board, with no grooves..........cheap......cheap.....cheap.

Gotta acquire "Aquire"!

Love this game!! It's fun to play and because the way you chose the tiles and build your business empire, it's a different set up each time. My son who works in finance loves this game. Quick and easy learning curve. Highly recommend it!

We played the older version with friends but wasnt willing to ay $100for it. Bought this version and as just got a white acrylic paint pen to make the numbers on the board white. Better than the 95 version, but not our favorite version.

Needs some help

I have been playing Acquire since the 80's with my parents. Our original 1968 game of course was the best made, but the money and cards smell now LOL. We have tried to find a new one, but the new versions attempted are not good. This one especially. You cannot see the numbers/letters on the board. Board and print is in gray. The board only has 10 rows instead of 12. The rules have changed slightly. And there is not enough money in the game. I had to copy and print more. Hasbro, why change from the original game that worked just fine. I can deal with the company name changes, but the rules and the board are silly!!

Not so desirable knock-off

I wish I had known this wasn't going to have a real game board. This is really difficult for the amount of movement throughout the game. We kept messing up the game every time we had to place or remove tiles. The tile holders are flimsy and make it hard to fit the whole game back into the box after setting them up. The only good thing about this game is the heavy paper stocks.
