One of the best co op games on any console, fun to collect, nice figures to look at and lvl up. And challenging on hardest difficulty. Playing your favourite skylanders or trying a new one, just lots of fun. The perfect game to play with your partner or children.

This Game has sold out all over the world, and rightly so, it's been near impossible since Christmas to get more figurines which is a testament to the enjoyment this game brings. So the basic Breakdown is The Big Bad "Kaos" is looking to take over skylands and your skylanders are all that stands between him and victory. With Your Portal of Power you can change characters on mission on the fly with only a seconds load time. It's very fluid and very fun and very intuitive even with two players on the Portal. The only downfall I've found so far is you want to have a stash of AA batteries around as the portal can get a bit hungry and can get a bit jumpy when going flat. All round an awesome game!

Skylander Spyro's Adventure is a very good game and different than other console games. I like the way that you do not have to have the portal permanently connected. You just put your characters on the portal and it transports them into your game. You change between characters by clicking the skylander you want to use on the bottom of the screen. I also like that you have to do the levels quite quickly as after a certain point the bad guy, Hector, will come after you with a count down on the screen. Killing enemies can sometimes give you a time extending clock. This game is excellent.

I was a little concerned as to what this product contained, as the picture only showed the game. In a store, I had recently seen the starter pack for around $75. So, I was afraid that this was just the game. I was very excited and happy when I picked it up to see that it was truly the starter pack and included the game, portal and several figures. I purchased it as a gift, so we haven't used it, yet, but I can't imagine that my children (and myself and my husband!) won't like it. It was a great deal for this item!
This game seems to have gone down very well with my 9 year old. It's quite genius the way this game has been put together incorporating trading cards (top trumps style), and the changeable characters. It reallsy adds something to the existing genre. Also means more money though! The starter pack comes with the portal (which plugs into the Xbox 360) and 3 figures to get started. I understand from other reviews that the Wii and PS3 version have wireless portals. I don't understand why Xbox have not followed suit since it would have been easy to to make it wireless. The game itself is easy to set up no instructions needed just follow what's on screen. It's very much in the style of the original Spyro crossed with Kameo. Very child friendly.
This is such a cracking title for younger kids. My little lad loves seeing his favourite figures on screen and making crazy noises. Surprisingly the graphics hold up for such an old title (2012). Nvidia control panel allows you to add additional graphics setting outside the game. Only downside is that you need a dvd reader to install and play; not a common device nowadays

You are provided with 3 trusty characters to start you on your quest. The characters are represented by figurines that sit on the plate. Disney and I are not friends!) Pocket money priced figurines that unlock different parts of the game and have their own abilities . A marketing gimmick, but one I will definitely allow Activision to own... The figures are £6 to £7.50 depending on where you go. Kids can be treated to a new one if they've been good, they are perfect as gifts and honestly THE BEST BUY THIS YEAR!!!!
Having been introduced to Skylanders by my seven year old nephew I decided to pick up a copy and have a go. I am well and truly addicted! The game is a relatively simple yet addictive game, where you use your characters to solve puzzles, beat enemies and power up. Some levels are easier with certain characters and some levels only playable with some characters. This of course keeps you looking out for them! The portal of power however also works with a PC and when used online at the Skylanders website - various things are unlocked. Overall the game is good fun for all ages and with the added online stuff it's well worth picking up!
I brought Skylanders for my nephew, and he was over the moon! He immediately started playing it, and does at every chance he gets. The game changes all of the time, thanks to the different characters that come with it, and you can purchase others to extend game-play further. I personally think this is suitable for both adults and kids. The kids love it so much, my 11 year old niece now wants it and is even willing to pay for it herself out of her money she has saved. It's that good of a game. I highly recommend it.
My kids say that this game is extraordinary, who I'm writing this review for (nb age range is theirs not mine) They particularly like the way that the characters are transported into the game when you place them on the portal of power. The physical characters are well designed and on screen have differing abilities. The characters, together with the portal, add a new dimension to game playing. It's easy to switch characters. The game on the screen is very colourful with a good 3d look to it. The sound effects add excitement to game play. All in all a great game.
