A huge improvement over my last speakers

I haven't really done much recording since the mid-90s, and I am amazed at how speaker technology has grown. I set up a home studio this past year, with the Adam Audio T5V speakers as monitors. These speakers are unbelievably clear and transparent. I can "see" the stereo imaging, especially if there is any panning in the mix. These speakers don't have a really big bass output, but that is to be expected of a studio monitor. If necessary, you could put in a subwoofer, but for my purposes (recording blues and folk types of music), it hasn't been required. I am very, very happy with these speakers, however, and highly recommend them. For the price, this has been a fabulous investment.

I moved my studio monitors, Adam ANF10s, to my listening room. Therefore, I needed to replace them in my studio. I auditioned several different monitors. KRK, Yamaha, etc. Before purchasing, I listened to the Adam T5V. These monitors had the familiar Adam sound that I was used to. Their clarity was second to none and put the other monitors I auditioned in the back seat.I cannot recommend the Adam T5V monitors enough. Definitely a great monitor choice.

Wow these monitors are impressive. I went in to another national retailer who sells a lot of guitars and sound equipment and looking at a cheaper pair of monitors. One of the employees highly recommended the Adam Audio T series. The ribbon style tweeter on these blow the other monitors in this range out of the water. Have it set up as my main computer speakers and boy does music sound great, but not just music... dialog, videos, gaming... you name it. These are my first powered monitors so I don't have a ton of experience but I've always had high end surround sound speakers. Very impressed and sound much better than all the 5 inchers I was able to compare them to in the price range (even a few of the ones in a higher tier). They won't boom the low ends but they are ... MoreWow these monitors are impressive. Best speakers for the price!
2 August 2020

Was looking for great sounding studio monitors without spending a fortune. After researching options and reviews, pulled the trigger on the T5Vs. Was leaning toward the T7V for more low end, but decided could add a sub if needed later. Immediately after putting some music thru these it was looking like a good decision. After burning in for a day, gave a harder listen with various types of music including my own recordings. They sounded great by themselves on MOST music, but not all. The low end for some bass drum sound on plug ins was a little lacking compared to my cans, so ordered the T10S sub from Adam Audio. All I can say now is WOW!!!! Best sounding speaker setup I've ever owned, which include Bose, Infinity, JBL, etc.You cannot go wrong with the Adam Audio ... MoreWas looking for great sounding studio monitors without spending a fortune. Best studio monitor in this price range
27 May 2018

I have owned about 3 pairs of studio monitors in this price range over the last 4 years. When I heard Adam Audio was coming out with actual budget monitors, I had to buy them. I've spent a lot of time listening to the Adam A7X's so my expectations for Adam Audio were pretty high. Glad to say that the T series have met my expectations! The tweeter is exactly what you would expect from Adam Audio. The first thing I noticed when listening to the monitors is the incredible stereo image, something that my was not as well defined with previous monitors I have owned. The bass response is pretty tight and doesn't overcompensate too much for having only a 5in driver. I have these paired with my Presonus Temblor T10 subwoofer and needless to say, I am super happy with my ... MoreI have owned about 3 pairs of studio monitors in this price range over the last 4 years. Great Value
9 May 2022

I bought these for the reduced footprint on my desk for nearfield use. Mainly use them for media consumption, no music production. Sonically, I think they are great, a decent amount of bass with the top end was a bit much for me, so I did EQ these a bit to my liking. What I'm most impressed with is the clarity and detail I get out of these. You definitely have to turn these up a fair amount to get the most out of them, at lower listening volumes it is less dynamic and engaging.

If you can affor them, buy these !
26 April 2020

as an affordable range they are a bit expensive, but worth it. Even comparing to models twice the price they sound so so so so goood.Yes they could be prettier, could have the bass reflex in the fron, as the power, led and controls, yes to all that - but as soon as you hear them playing it ALL GOES AWAY.Beautiful soundstage, 3D image so clear out of the box, detailed, all I was expecting.Do you know when you look at the more expensive alternative but can only affor the cheaper one and hope it's anything comparable to the top of the line? and how sometimes its a disapointment, but you know you get what you pay for ? This is not the case: they are amazing and can do 90% of the job, when the pair is 150 euros cheaper than just one A7X!Buy them

Seriously Good

I'm a full-time audio engineer working in a large church. I usually mix in our dedicated mix suite - but when I'm mixing from home, my pair of T5V's are my go-to monitors. I love that you can adjust them in predetermined increments to better suit your environment. My only complaint is that they err on the side of being ever-so-slightly shimmery and lacking a little between 500hz-2khz, but this is very nuanced and could very well just be my space. When I A/B'd them with the JBL 305s, 308s and the Yamaha HS5s, these seemed much more transparent and the EQ curve was comparatively more revealing of imperfects I knew existed in my test tracks. In my environment, the low end is phenomenal, especially for 5" drivers. While the high freq drivers aren't the same ribbons ... MoreI'm a full-time audio engineer working in a large church. All in all, I love these little monitors. They have no business sounding as good as they do.

(Purchased from another site)For the price they offer a different type of listener excitement compared to a KRK Rokit 5G3. Rokits have some pronounced/fun thump and exciting dynamics- great for jamming out (a valid creative advantage, but not a valid sonic advantage). Rokits are fun because, to the listener, they function as a vignette into what your music may sound like on a live sound system with intentionally pronounced EQ, so it feels like you're mix is already out there on CD in a club.Similarly, these give you a great initial sensation of detail and imaging, and are super fun- IF you have never owned a pair of speakers with good upper register resolution. These are very fun listening, but your first decent set of monitors will always be fun. These have decently tight midbass and acceptable low end for a budget 5" monitor, despite a surprisingly light cabinet. Don't expect anything useful below about 55-60hz, and anything close to critical kick drum work you can forget.I would not recommend these as your only monitors, but rather a second set (they're SO cheap) to have the folded ribbon drivers for reverb/ambience/transient timbrality, however I would not rely on them exclusively- the mids are too thin to compare to any respectable professional monitor.Pick up a pair of the concept excites you... just don't forget how easily excited new ears get to new types of sound reproduction. That lovely fine detail can't compensate for the scooped sound signature, the barrel-bottom cabinet materials and design. If you need one pair of speakers, please get something better than the first Chinese-made budget speaker from a company known for expensive and complicated speakers. These are good, but not as good as the rave reviews that will no doubt pour in from a ton of new producers and musicians buying their first monitors.Other monitors/speakers used:-KRK Rokit 5G3-KRK Rokit 8G2-Genelec 8030-B&W 805 Nautilus-Fostex 6.4.1

There is absolutely no comparison between the Audioengine speakers and these Adams. These Adams are clear, crisp, have tight punchy bass - they are everything I was looking for and are less expensive than I originally paid!!
