This is my first SSD from ADATA. I bought it because the cost ($129 with coupon code). 6.) Tech Support contacted but not yet get response. Will update when I do.

Adata SSD Turns Aging Computer Into a Performance Monster!

If one is adept at replacing and installing data drives, this internal solid state drive will be well worth the effort. I own both Mac and Windows computers, but wouldn't consider replacing a hard drive with an SSD on my Mac--it's scary. When I felt the need for additional speed and capabilities, I simply purchased a new Mac that already ran on SSD. But I had no trouble switching drives on three of my Windows laptops. One must first install the needed software and then have on hand an inexpensive piece of hardware that enables one to transfer data from the original hard drive to the SSD. After the transfer is complete, one must remove the old hard drive and install the SSD in its place. When complete, start up the computer close your eyes and pray! For me this was a good purchase. It's important to have realistic expectations. The ssd drive is much faster but you have to understand that even a faster drive is limited by the hardware limitations imposed by the computer you plug it into. Your internet isn't going to seem faster. Your video card isn't going to dramatically provide faster frame-rates. What you will experience is faster boot-up and shutdown times and faster program execution. The drive operates silently and seems to run cooler. This was a basic summary of what I have found to be the case. This Adata SSD is the only SSD I own so I have no other ssd drive to compare it to. Also, not being a technician or otherwise skilled with computers I cannot be more specific or inclusive of more pertinent info. ... MoreFor me this was a good purchase. Excellent buy for expanding space on laptop.
8 December 2020

- This is an excellent drive that worked with these ASUS laptops, I noticed the other 2280 with the different pins didn't get recognized by the motherboard. - You many need to look up in YT "ASUS X505ZA Teardown" for a reference in opening up this type of ASUS laptop. - If expanding space, create system image backup, then use Win10 Disk or USB to "recovery image". Once that is done, you can go to disk management and extend space, but only if it is adjacent to the image created. If Windows creates, in a dumb way, a system partition in-between, you will need to use cmd diskpart commands to remove that partition then extend your drive. (note create a different reverting point if you do for backup).

Good, not great SSD, but still fast enough. I really prefer the Promo gift card offered, far better then the usual rebate nonsense !

Placed in a Skylake micro HTPC that is used to surf and stream online. Good low cost option. Read speeds are fine, and really no noticeable drop in real world usage when compared to my Samsung 850 EVO's, as this HTPC is used for very light duties. Not saying I'd use this in a Main PC for gaming or video editing, as it lacks better write speeds, but for typical day to day online usage it's just fine... Thanks to Newegg for offering the gift card instead of the usual rebate ! I truly hate rebates, and the gift card is the main reason I chose this lower priced SSD over other options . I can only hope that some day, the mail in rebate nonsense will cease to exist. Why are most digital components still tied to old world marketing snail mail programs. Why buy a product intended to allow someone to transact business over the net, yet still require that we transact our business through the very medium you have intended for us to turn our backs on ? Am I missing the point here ?

The drive seems to be working in a reliable way so far. In fact everything seems to be smooth so far. If a recovery CD won't boot to make the Image restore to the drive you can try a USB Windows Media Installation USB drive. The tools are on the drive under troubleshooting. Microsoft has made it easy to upgrade to a Adata SSD. Other thoughts, Anyone looking for a faster SSD should be using a M.2 drive instead of SATA. The drive seems to be capped by SATA. Also, If you are setting up just to use for Windows boot drive you should consider 256GB or 512GB drive. Windows with updates will use 35GB at the most. I have a computer with a 512 GB SSD for a boot drive and right now it's overkill. I would recommend this 1TB drive to anyone using it for a System drive or storage drive as long as reliability holds up. I have a SU650 960GB in My laptop, and it has held up fine for over a year now. That drive is on for 8 hours constant playing music. It seems to be solid if anything like that. Only time will tell how good it will be. The SU800 works good now at 1TB capacity. No complaints..

Great Bang for Buck

Two weeks on the job as a dedicated games and entertainment drive; no issues whatsoever. Crystal Disk Mark 6 shows seq read of 565 MB/s and seq write of 532 MB/s (NTFS, Simple format, GPT). These speeds are 5%+ and 130%+ faster than Samsung 840; Overall average of 20% faster than Samsung on random reads and 22% faster on random writes. Also significantly faster than previous generation ADATA SSDs, nearly matching 2 in RAID 0 config. I have 3 ADATA M.2 NVMe drives, 4 ADATA SSDs (3 different generations). Over several years have never had an ADATA SSD or M.2 fail or glitch. M.2s are used for OS; SSDs are used for video / photo editing and transcoding, so heavy workloads are normal.
