These are probably the best running shoes I’ve ever purchased. They are so light on your feet and they do improve your run times. This is the second pair I’ve bought and first pair has approx. 300 miles on them. In my opinion, they work really well for up to 10 miles but after that, you start to feel it at the front end of your feet. So may not brilliant if using for half or full marathon distance but that maybe down to the number of miles on the shoe.

As running shoes they feel great giving really good forward propulsion. I feel that I will be really competitive in races with these shoes. However, the cleat type shoe holes do dig into one of my feet, hopefully this will resolve itself over time. Additionally, they felt ‘wobbly’ when running on road with camber.Overall, good value for money, hoping for some good times.

This is my third carbon plated shoe and it might be my favorite over what are considered the kings of the category. The stability at easy paces is top notch. I tried out heel striking just for kicks, and didn't notice any wobbliness, either. Marathon and half marathon paces were easy to hold, but it did take a few minutes to really lock in my half marathon pace, as I was going about 20 seconds faster than I wanted to. My only knock on the shoe was the fit on my right foot. The heel slippage was a bit much during my first run and the tongue rubbed a bloody mess into the front of my ankle. I was able to mess with the lacing and fix it the next time out, but the heel hold was noted by many "shoe-tubers" and should be kept in mind. It's an issue, but not one without an ... MoreThis is my third carbon plated shoe and it might be my favorite over what are considered the kings of the category. I mostly use these for 10K and 10 miles road races. Sometimes on the track. They're fast!!! I went out 15 seconds too fast in my last 10K. I was too busy looking for room and was quite surprised at the one mile mark.Noticeably faster splits when I use these on the track.Definitely make my legs last longer too. Cuts my time down by 4-5%.Yes - they can chew up socks. First time out the toes of my socks were shredded. I sized up half a size and found a sock with a more durable fiber that also grips to my shoes - perfection!
These were 40% off so rather than buy my normal everyday runner, I got these because there was no way I'd be spending close to $400 on shoes. Definitely feels like a race shoe, very cut down sole. Great support and cushioning, but the tongue is annoying, bunches up at times. Id prefer the integrated tongue of the Boston 10. Aside from that, I will enjoy them as long as they last, sole isnt very thick so not expecting 500+km out of them.
Well, looking for the next great super shoe and these are not it. The upper is an absolute disaster, so rough that it literally tears into your socks, and it's really hard to get a good lock down. Also, the heel collar is brutal as well, first, the bumpers seem to be a bit too high and they are so rough. If you hit the rear of the heel collar it slices into your achilles. I do like the cushioning, but, these are suppose to be the most stable in this line, and going around corners you really have to slow down. Good heel to toe transition, but I'm sticking with my Vaporflys for racing. I couldn't imagine running a marathon in these. I'm kinda sick of these stupid energy rods as well, really would like more structure to a carbon plate. I cant speak much or compare with other race day shoes so thats the only reason I give it a 4/5. But honestly these were great for me. I ran my first half marathon in these in February and I don’t recommend to do this but i didn’t even break them in and i had 0 issues with on race day. They felt better than my past running shoes and super lightweight. I love how breathable they are also. They are pricey and meant for race day only but i cant say i had any issues so far with them. I will say im not used to how grippy these shoes are i almost fell twice but after a couple of strides I got well adjusted. The shoe for me ran a bit large im usually a size 10 i ended up with size 9.5 and still had good wiggle room.
Of the three models I tried in the shop, these were the ones that felt most like I could imagine running a marathon in. And I will be, in one month! I'd never tried carbon-equipped supershoes before and really got used to them on my second time out. At the same level of exertion based on heart rate, I can achieve a faster pace than in any other shoes I've worn. The day after a seventeen mile run, I felt fewer aches and more reactivated than ever before - it was a vivid improvement. I'd been put off by the energy rods in reviews before, thinking I'd prefer a solid plate, but now I've felt them helping, I'm a convert. I thought the price was veery reasonable. I'd expected to pay a lot more for shoes in this category. They're a bit fiddly to get on, and it's taking me ... MoreOf the three models I tried in the shop, these were the ones that felt most like I could imagine running a marathon in. I'd expected to pay a lot more for shoes in this category. They're a bit fiddly to get on, and it's taking me a few goes to master the lacing so it doesn't loosen in mid-run. But I think these are inevitable characteristics of the minimal uppers in these sorts of shoes.
Tried to make these work for me. Ran about 60km (4 mainly temo runs) and they just got worse. The stack and tension rods are bouncy and quick but the uppers just tore my feet up. The first 2 eyelets the laces go through create indentations on the inside of the shoe that creates a pressure point on the foot. Got the metaspeed sky+ after this and they are way better.
Amazing shoes. I am a running enthusiast not an elite. These are amazing. Upper is very thin for weight savings so takes a little adjusting to get fit right each time. Once dialed in you can cruise forever. Can go fast and slow which is why can recommend for most all runners. The foam is amazing . The carbon rod plate is perfect and you really pick up the pace but if slow down it isn’t painful or harmful just no benefit at slow speeds.
