The shoe experts at Road Runner could benefit from clarifying that this isn't "Adidas' take on Air Max." I think it's more serious as a pair of running shoes. A quick trial on the treadmill quickly helped me to shake off this "another company's Air Max" bias.Compare Ultra Boost with other brand's competing models, and you'll quickly notice that, for the amount of cushion that Ultra Boost offers, it has that interesting energetic response. It does not feel "squishy" like some other cushioned stability shoes, and I didn't feel much energy loss from a kick. That's probably thanks to the new midsole material they're using, and a LOT of it. It's a stability model, so you'll notice bit of an extra midsole material around the arch/midfoot area, but for me this wasn't a ... MoreThe shoe experts at Road Runner could benefit from clarifying that this isn't "Adidas' take on Air Max." Very impressive!

I think the best compliment I can give these shoes is that when I'm out running in them I never think about them or my feet. Everything feels comfortable and natural. I don't get hot spots or rubs. My leg muscles don't tire in unusual ways. My feet are locked in tight and comfortable. These are truly the best distance shoes I've ever run in. The cushion is amazing and, as I said, I don't notice them while I'm running at all. I was very skeptical of Adidas as a legitimate running brand but I am convinced now.One negative for me that is the shoes are so cushioned that I find it hard to do speedwork in them. The forefoot is too squishy to get a proper forefoot landing and push off at a sprint pace. It feels like half of my sprint energy is lost to a marshmallow. ... MoreI think the best compliment I can give these shoes is that when I'm out running in them I never think about them or my feet. I really like the bounce in these shoes. It feels like the shoes are taking all of the impact. On the flip side, the shoes do not fit my feet properly. They’re too wide and feet move around in them too much. I tried pulling the laces in more tightly, but I then experience major lateral foot pain. I didn’t read the return policy (I just so used to returning items I don’t like on other sites like Amazon and Zappos, I didn’t think about it after seeing the great price). Now I’m not sure if it’s worth returning or exchanging them (maybe the women’s shoe would fit better?) given the cost. Sun and Ski is probably the place to go only if you know you like the item you’re buying. It’s not the place to try item you think you might want to buy.

The Ultra Boosts are awesome! I've switched back and forth from Asics and New Balance and was never happy with those shoes. Asics made their EE wides too narrow and a 4E was way too much. NB OK, but not great for the money. Along came these UB ST's. I originally bought them as "lifestyle" shoes, to wear on weekends as comfortable shoes since I was tired of using bright running shoes for all day casual use.I was skeptical initially, as this shoe only comes in s standard D width. I have issues with an arthritic big toe and prefer a wide toe box. This shoe is designed with a larger toe box, where a D width is fine. The shoe fits well and provides comfort and stability for my duck feet. As long as Adidas continues to leave the design as is, I'll continue to buy only ... MoreThe Ultra Boosts are awesome! I have now run 53 miles in the Adidas Ultra Boost STs, and I really like them so far. They are very comfortable and well-cushioned, but at the same time, you can still feel the road. I know it's odd to say well-cushioned AND feel the road, but you just have to try them to see what I mean. I think Adidas is on to something with this boost material. Anyway, my main concern when buying these was the durability of the outsole (even with the new Continental rubber). After 53 miles, this is still my main concern. I have attached a couple pictures here to show the outsoles after 53 miles. I will try to get pictures roughly every 50 miles to see how they wear over time.By the way, I did order 1/2 size up from street shoe size based on RRS recommendation, and that worked ... MoreI have now run 53 miles in the Adidas Ultra Boost STs, and I really like them so far. This is my all time favorite running shoe. I never want to run in anything else. I have run in almost everything and in all the major brands. I have run in minimalist shoes including five fingers all the way to motion control shoes. My marathon PR is 3:45 but I have been sidelined by running injuries for several years. I am finally running again injury free and I think this shoe is helping. I now have over 200 miles of running in them and have just started running in my second pair. I'm now up to 30 miles a week. What is surprising about this shoe is how flexible it is for a shoe with so much cushioning, and that running with a mid foot to for foot strike feel very natural. I was afraid it would send me back into a heel strike but not at all. Please Adidas don't ... MoreThis is my all time favorite running shoe. I never want to run in anything else. The only con is that it is expensive and wears quickly like a minimalist shoe. 200 miles and I definitely need to get new ones. But still it is worth it if it helps me stay injury free.
This is an update to my earlier reviews. I have now run 300 miles in one pair (and about 260 miles in another pair). Attached are some pictures of the outsole wear after 300 miles. This will be my final update, but my concerns about the outsole were unwarranted. Although definitely worn down (especially the thin nobs), the outsoles are still there without any spots that have worn to the point of seeing the midsole. Just to recap, I am 180 lbs, and I would say that I am an average foot-striker. I think the outsole might be an issue still if you are a heavy foot-striker, but for average or light foot-strikes, I think the outsole should last a good 400+ miles. With the boost material, the midsole should last even longer, and that is really what is important. I will ... MoreThis is an update to my earlier reviews. Just writing a quick initial review. I find these Adidas Ultra Boost ST run a full size longer than my regular shoe size, so they are being returned for exchange. Heel moves on my strides, toe box wide, good room for me. The fit and feel are otherwise excellent. I have the golf shoes with Boost and love them, they are sized at 10.5, thought the running shoes would be like all my other running shoes, an 11. I have yet to put any miles on them but for comfort, and feel, I had them on around the house and I am excited to get the right size back to hit the pavement. I have a closet full of ASICS Kayano 22 and down, Nike Lunar glide 7 and down, all of these in a Men's size 11 are just fine. I'll update wear and ride in a few months,
The UltraBOOST is one of the greatest innovations in the shoe industry, ever. These are no different in feeling than the regular Ultra Boost. That feeling - is incredible. They feel like walking on supportive memory foam and can run in them until your legs are tired. These were made in the newer 3.0 version style fabric pattern but with the parley accents. They have custom cages and the heal is a special weave pattern with an all white sole. The greatest aspect of this pair of shoes, besides their head turning abilities, is that they were crafted from recycled ocean plastic! Highly Recommend
The Ultra Boost ST is the stability version of the adidas Ultra Boost, so it will address excessive overpronation, as well as provide support for flat feet/arches. Finally- an Ultra Boost for overpronators! It still has the Primeknit upper, but rather than the "booty" style of the regular Ultra Boosts (which typically causes buyers to need to size up for a good fit), it has a midfoot tongue- so there's some adjustability, and the upper isn't quite so shallow, allowing for a more true to size fitting. It also still has the 100% boost midsole- but, it is a multi density midsole, which allows for progressive stability, which makes your run feel natural and not awkward (ie- you don't "feel" like you're wearing a stability shoe).
