Because this is a super niche shoe (sneaker + cycling cleat combination), it kind of has to accomplish a delicate balancing act — it has to be a comfortable sneaker but it has to be a stiff and resilient cycling shoe. I'm happy to report that after a half dozen little tester rides, these shoes are nailing it on both sides of that equation. I have no intention of doing any large event rides in these; they're not meant to replace my cycling shoes — they're just for going to the movies or the doctor or dinner or whatever, without having to bring an extra pair of shoes with me. I especially value the thoughtful little cycling details like all the extra lace holes up by the ankle which allow for a SUPER custom (and tight) fit, and the small elastic lace retention point on the tongue, where I can tuck the trailing lace ends to keep them from running into my sprocket. The stiffness of the cleat body running the length of the sole is just enough to get good power transfer on my bike and not so stiff that they feel like I'm wobbling around in proper cycling shoes. In fact they might be some of the most comfortable sneakers I've ever worn, at least from Adidas. And I'm a sucker for loud colorways so of course I love the electric salmon stripe and logo and insole. Bottom line: I'm absolutely going to buy more of this shoe when I wear these out. AWESOME.
