There is a very faint scent and the liquid is slightly opaque as you can see from other reviewers' pictures. It's quite a big bottle (if you compare it to The Ordinary's serums of 30ml each), so if you use if once or twice a week on the face, this should last you a very long time. I bought it to use on my body skin to see if it would have the same effect as the Amlactin 15% lotion had. So far I don't love it for this purpose and I'd say you definitely need a lotion afterwards otherwise your skin will be left feeling tacky and dry. This is just an experiment I had which turned out not to be my best idea ever, so I'll keep using it, but for its intended purpose on the face followed by a moisturizer.
