It's been an easy recommendation for many of my friends and family and I never travel without it.However, I'm sad to say that 3 of the new 'innovations' under new management are all of poor quality. It comes off easier to clean the underside but it doesn't seem to be quite as snug and makes the inverted option risky (sure, it's already a little adventurous but now even more so). We had perfection of a sort...this is not a move forward I'm sorry to say. I can't feel as confident recommending this device to friends and family.

I was so thrilled the first time I used the Aeropress that I bought a 2nd one that day. A few days later I bought a few mess filters and severañ thoussnd more paper filters. Then I bought a replacement plunger JUST IN CASE, and now I'm getting ready to buy 2 more presses!!! I've been making my own espresso since 1980, and will admit I'm a bit of a "coffee snob". I'm telling you, this makes THE BEST cup of espresso AND coffee that I've ever had. My espresso tastes as complex and smooth as fine dark chocolate now. And with no power required, one of my presses has been put in my camping gear box too! I got rid of my drip coffee maker, my french press and my espresso maker! All that counter space!!!

This is normal - after that many years of plastic against plastic, it wears, especially when you use it a lot! So I thought, "the new one out of Tritan is so beautiful, I might as well treat myself to a new one rather than buying another new gasket and filter cap". And I'm glad I did... I love the new one - and it's tighter all around, holds pressure longer, doesn't drip through prematurely like a worn one does, and yes, it IS beautiful. My only gripe is that it did not come with a funnel! If you're grinding your own, how do you get the grounds into the cylinder without making a mess? AeroPress seemed a good alternative. I finally wore that Aeropresse out, so replaced it. I wondered at the time why they used smoky plastic instead of clear. I have vision problems that make the markings on the smoky plastic harder to see. My sister worked for the original Starbucks in Seattle in 1971 and when she brought home coffee, that was the start of something big… For me. It doesn’t matter how smart you are, how good-looking you are, how rich you are, or what nationality you are a great cup of coffee it’s a great cup of coffee, and can be had by all. I make the best cup of coffee , and it doesn’t matter how much money you have. You cannot get a better cup of coffee and I produce.
I have been an Aeropress user for over a year now. I took the launch of the clear aeropress as an opportunity to add a second press to my collection and use my original as a travel unit. The Aeropress lets you make coffee as simply or as detailed as you like. There are many "recipes" to follow to build your coffee knowledge and experience. At the same time, you can follow the instructions on the box and still end up with an enjoyable cup.The clear Aeropress looks great on my counter and has not shown any signs of staining or wear. I expect it to last a good while thanks to the materials it is made from.I honestly don't think you can go wrong with an Aeropress compared to other coffee brewing methods. The price point and ease of use make it a staple of my routine.
