The cup and lid was actually the selling point of this model over the other option(s) - I liked that the whole kit nested together in a sturdy package. So, would I recommend it? Without hesitation! The pricing is very good also since it paid for itself in the first week of use. How many products can you say that about? It’s sturdy, well made and has proven to hold up perfectly over years of use. If you’re on the fence - just get it. You’ll be very happy you did as you sit back and enjoy your perfect cup of coffee.

I use the AeroPress Go in my small RV so I don't have to stand over my coffee mug with my previous device, a Primula Brew Buddy, slowly pouring water so that it did not overflow. There is a lot more folderal around the AeroPress, with yes, "fiddly bits", but I did not find it excessive working in my very limited counter space. Except for rinsing off the stirring device and around the stopper, I found it easy and much less of a clean up than the minimalist Primula (mostly because getting coffee grounds out of mesh always seemed to require a lot more water when you are trying not to empty a whole water bottle to do it). Also, I am impatient and I prefer to wait the small amount of time before plunging and the slow plunge instead of the slow pour. YMMV. Also, if you prepare a concentrate, you can actually make up to 3 cups of standard coffee with the Aeropress. With the Primulas, it was more of a slow pour battle with overflowing grinds. The small paper filters seem like a minimal waste and so easy to discharge after pressing. For the true eco-warrior they make a ss filter. You do have to experiment with times and amounts, but there are tons of award-winning "recipes" online to help you on your way and they are dirt simple. Small packable device with all the parts fitting into one compact package, which is excellent for fitting into small storage spaces. All ya need is boiled water, let stand to cool a little, for the fussy coffee snob. Or, you can do a cold brew (!) in a pinch, which is GREAT. I use standard pre-ground coffee off the shelf in mine, and it makes a great little or bigger cup of coffee with not nearly the fuss I had thought, given all the strange reviews out there.For comparison, I have also used a standard French press (with Folgers--!--strangely good, but a PIA to clean grinds out afterwards), and a small percolator, which took a lot longer on the same Firefly stove I continue to use, and also a PIA to clean out the grinds. And, just to mention, both Starbucks and Death Wish concentrated "instant". The aero press produces a superior cup to my taste and wins the clean out comparison hands down.
