So I bought a 2009 Tiger 1050. As I was not sure I would dig commuting. It is comfortable, and I really do not know any different on how much quieter a high dollar helmet will be. I put a Sena SMH5 in it, once again I didn't spend the big bucks as I was not sure I would like commuting. ( I watched the Vids here on all the COM systems before I ordered it). The ear cut outs are nice but not quite big enough so a little mod is required to get them in, but they went in pretty sano and I dig the music on the way to work and home. Conversation is tough above 50MPH so I usually just don't answer the phone. But it is a cool feature to be able to do so. If you like talking to people.So the helmet is as advertised and I think I'll wait till Christmas and get the wife to foot the bill on a Shoei Neotec or a Shoei GT AIr II with the cool Sena system that does not stick out the side of the globe.I got the straight white one as well, why? well it was cost effective. And I think I just got lucky on picking a decent helmet at Cycle Gear.I like Revzilla and all the info. It is great for a newbe (to the street) like me!

They're amazing, one of those "I don't know how I've lived without these" kind of things.

This helmet works flawlessly but there are only two gripes I have found after one year of ownership and that has to do with the front vents and the sun visor.The stock visor is practically useless and is merely a tint as opposed to a shade. It doesn't help optically, and when its deployed when going at thruway speeds it creates a slight turbulent effect where the wind hits your eyes.Lastly, the biggest issue are the non-adjustable front vents. I really wish they were able to be closed as frankly it just gets annoying after a few minutes at 40 MPH, let alone freeway speeds. Although it has great airflow, it really makes the ride uncomfortable with all that wind blasting on your face especially on the colder months. It also doesn't interfere with my glasses.The speaker recesses in the foam also fit the thin/shallow speakers Sena 20S speakers. AGV has their own bluetooth unit, but it was more expensive than the much-vaunted Sena units, so I went with that.Overall, a great helmet. For the price, I couldn't find anything better.

I bought the Rossi Tartuga edition based on looks and brand and price. I did not want to spend the $1,600 on a Pista R so I figured this would still be good but come with nice style. It definitely has style! Colors are bright and has the aggressive look. Pairs nicely with the blue indium shield!I can't say anything about protection since I never went down on it, but durability is pretty good, about what you can expect for a $250 helmet.Features that are nice is the cracked shield position, this helps a lot with airflow. A bit annoying.Overall though its a decent helmet. Its a cheap helmet so you get what you pay for. I wanted an AGV, great style, and Rossi replica. I got all of that with this. It was not until I really wore the helmet +5k miles so far have I realized I would rather upgrade (at least to the Corsa...but unfortunately not as many Rossi replicas in that style that I like). So if you're on a budget, want a good looking helmet, that works decent, I'd recommend it. If you want an awesome helmet with no complaints..this isn't the one.

Mainly matters for aesthetics and aerodynamics at highway speed, so not a deal breaker.- Pretty loud compared to more premium price helmets- Comfort is fine but if you try it on back to back with a well-fitting Shoei/Arai/etc. you can tell the difference in materials- Face shield seal is definitely budget. When caught in the rain a small amount of water seeps through the gasket pretty quickly.Overall:Great do-it-all helmet, pretty ideal for a first helmet in my opinion (along with a few others with internal sun visors from the likes HJC and Scorpion, pick the one you like the looks of best honestly). Most of the compromises are purely based on the price point. I am probably biased since I fit an ML in AGV sizing, if there were 3 shell sizes (or... if I fit in an MS) then I'd give it 5 stars.I keep it around as a good 2nd lid in the rare case I have a pillion, works out great since I can just tell them to use the sun visor as needed.I personally moved on to the Shoei RF-SR because I wanted a quieter helmet that was a bit more comfortable and has pinlock as well as a less sporty style (more neutral shaped than sporty).
I am a new rider, and this is my first helmet, so I don't have anything else to reference too. Besides that I went to a local shop and tried this on, along with the Bell DLX, I preferred the fit and finish of the AVG over the Bell. So i went with it. Put 300 miles on my bike so far with this helmet, in the VA summer heat 80 to 90 degrees. I am staying comfortable with the great airflow in this helmet, I found the internal visor useless for me, as others have stated it needs to come down farther to be a practical feature. Also, with it up in the helmet, i could see the bottom of the internal visor hanging down, so i took the thing out. I have been wearing sunglasses and using the clear shield, which is working great. The helmet is very comfortable in terms of the padding, was a little harsh at first but it has broken in around the face and is nice and soft. The weight doesn't seem to be an issue, i feel like the ergonomics of the helmet help in cutting through the wind at speed. I have used earplugs when I know i'll be at any speed over 50 mph, the wind noise is pretty loud, but then again i have no frame of reference as to what loud is. Earplugs are very easy and cheap, do not mind using them at all! Again from my beginner experience, this was the best helmet at this price range, and i am very happy with it. Helmet is Matte Black with the white AVG logo. I wish I had the italia AVG logos like some others have received.
