This helmet is awesome! I previously had a very entry level Shark helmet (which was really good), but decided to upgrade to the AGV. After alot of shopping around I settled on the AGV, and have not regretted it.The fit is really good, nice and snug. The wind noise isn't bad at all, pretty much the same as my Shark. I dont know if there is a helmet out there with zero wind noise. I installed the Pinlock that came with the helmet...and let me tell you, that thing is a miracle worker. I ride everyday in the London weather and for years have always battled with a fogged up visor. The pinlock on this solve all of that! This helmet looks even better in person than it does in the photos with nice vibrant colours and a shiny appearance. I was surprised when I opened the box as I ordered an XL and it was incredibly light didn't believe it was my helmet being delivered at first. The pinlock visor it came with was quick and simple to fit after checking the instructions on how to do it. The helmet does not mist up now it feels great and has all the features you need at such a great price it's hard to turn this item down. The fit was a little tight out the box despite following the instructions on how best to measure your head but this was only around the cheeks in particular when I tried to talk after removing the cheek inserts under the lovely foam pads it was a great fit and a helmet ... MoreThis helmet looks even better in person than it does in the photos with nice vibrant colours and a shiny appearance. I wanted a good SHARP rating (4 stars). This helmet's Gold ACU badge is a bonus. I bought the Large size to fit my 59 cm head and it's a great fit. Next it is lightweight (1350 gms) by comparison with my flip-up helmet. I like the visor opening detents. These enable the visor to latch at intermediate positions. Alternative detent mechanisms are also included in the box. The liner is very easy to remove allowing washing or replacement. Internal airflow very controllable via series of adjustable vent. Visor removal is simple and no tools are required (you need to detach to the visor to fit the Pinlock visor that comes as standard). Lastly it also looks great. Niggles? 1. The internal visor is not dark enough to be useful. 2. The temple side vents are awkward to ... MoreI wanted a good SHARP rating (4 stars). This helmet's Gold ACU badge is a bonus. Amazing Helmet
24 September 2021

I sadly didn't buy it from FortNine due to the shortage of gear in my size for this season, but I had found it elsewhere for much more pricier. But let me say this. I am comparing this to my first lid (C70) and when I rode as a passenger wearing a K3. This is AMAZING. The cheekpads being THE biggest difference. It is so plush. Very fitting in a way that it's just not pressing your cheeks into your jaw compared to my C70. And I've been breaking that helmet in for over a month before taking it on the road. Wind noise is comparable. A little bit loud but nothing music and ear protection won't fix.Has a real aggressive look. A step up from the K3, so you have that little spoiler at the back and the side profile is sexy. A step up from the K3, so you have that little spoiler at the back and the side profile is sexy. I've watched videos on this helmet where the rider mentions about the beak at the front, but so far I haven't had any issues and I don't have a long neck either. I do find the inner button to open up the front vents to be weird. Or poor design, BUT if you want to convert this to a helmet where you can implement a CamelBak....its absolutely perfect. TONS of ventilation and very customizeable too. Easy to reach while riding. Love the flip down visor too. Helps on an extra sunny sunset.I bought an iridium blue visor and I love the purple tint on the mirror. My theme is Black and purple so this goes perfect. I am hoping this does come back in stock for my size so I can get another one. Hopefully one that is manufacturerd in 2020 so I got another 5 years to use it.

Great helmet
19 July 2020

I started this year off buying a Shoei NeoTec 2 in March, and that helmet just sucked (I wrote a pretty negative review, but RevZilla took it down) I tried to make myself deal with it for a riding season not wanting to admit to a $700 mistake, but it's 3 downfalls were wearing on me, the biggest being that I was concerned about long term damage to my ears/hearing.The faults with that helmet are: the vents only exist to make noise, they don't actually flow air. Over 75° and you don't want to wear it...it gets gross. The weight, everyone knows it's heavy but after wearing it for 8 hours in a day you better plan on seeing a chiropractor. The noise. It is deafening loud, not an exaggeration I did a 500 mile day, and it took the next two days for my ears/hearing to feel normal again. The K5 S fixes those three issues for me (and I waited until doing a 400+ mile trip before reviewing it). The vents actually move air, you can wear the thing all day and kind of forget it's there because of how lite it is, and while still noisy the noise is at an acceptable level. The K5 S isn't perfect, the drop down visor should be a touch darker, and about an inch lower, AGV should have not put the nose cutout in it either, because it can be distracting. The mechanism for the chin vent should have been put on the outside of the helmet, where it's at is functional, but getting to it is annoying. Also, the one thing I immediately missed about the Shoei, was the ratchet lock chin strap, the double d-ring obviously works but it would be nice to just plug it in.All in all, I'm glad I got this helmet even though I had no intentions of buying another lid this year.

Great helmet, but not for the full tuck.
18 April 2018

This is a very high quality helmet, and well worth $400 + graphics. I will list my pros and cons below. As for sizing, my head shape is borderline long/intermediate oval, and the helmet fit without issue. My head size is 57.5cm and I bought the Medium-Small. You really have to put on the helmet with the chin at a downward angle to get the right fit. At first I was wearing it similar to other upright-riding helmets, and it was hurting my ears as well as being less comfortable. When fitted properly, your eyes are not in the middle of the visor as is usually recommended - they're a bit higher up. This makes the dropdown sun visor work perfectly, but means this is NOT a track helmet. Your visibility is definitely limited in the full tuck due to the top edge of the ... MoreThis is a very high quality helmet, and well worth $400 + graphics. I will list my pros and cons below. When fitted properly, your eyes are not in the middle of the visor as is usually recommended - they're a bit higher up. This makes the dropdown sun visor work perfectly, but means this is NOT a track helmet. Your visibility is definitely limited in the full tuck due to the top edge of the visor. The K5-S is a great helmet for a fairly neutral riding position though, which I was fairly surprised about since Anthony said otherwise in his video review. I guess I disagree with ya there, Booch.PROS- Phenomenal quality for the price range.- Very stable in the wind. This was important to me. The hawkbill slices through the air and gave me real stability in the upright and 3/4 riding positions. I haven't had any trouble doing shoulder checks either.- The visor detents are extremely solid and feel expensive.- Pinlock included in the box (not installed).- Sun visor works great and has a decent mechanic.- This sucker is LIGHT! Not as light as some of the full carbon helmets, but it still feels great in the hands and on the head.- AIRFLOW. With all vents open, this helmet flows a ton of air. I also didn't have any trouble opening the eyebrow vents like another reviewer mentioned. I was able to open them with gloved hands my first time riding with it.- The helmet is quiet when all the vents are closed... this is also a negative below.CONS- Okay, first thing. There is a very small, hard part of the liner stitching that sticks out in the center of the forehead. It's situated at the front vent cutout of the liner, and looks like a triangle - find it before you put on the helmet! I have no idea why it's there, as the rest of the stitching is straight. This thing was like a razor blade though, and the first time I yanked this helmet over my head it cut a nice vertical line down the top of my forehead. Take a pair of scissors and snip that bastard off.- The little tab that cracks the visor for city riding is a silly idea, and not the easiest to use either. This feels like the cheapest part of the helmet, as there is very little feedback when it opens and closes (a bit hard to use with gloves). I would rather have a normal detent to crack the visor.- I wasn't really a fan of the chin vent control being inside the helmet. It's right above the chin curtain, so you pretty much can't use it while riding. Hey AGV, how about you replace the weird city detent with an exterior vent switch? The style of the helmet would remain exactly the same.- Remember how I said the helmet is quiet with all the vents closed? Well, it's the opposite when they're open. The airflow is great, but it comes with the tradeoff of added wind noise (and lots of it). There's also a slight whistling noise when the wind catches a vent just right, but it's so loud as to be overbearing. On a cool day in the city I forego ear plugs, but during the summer with the vents open you'll definitely need them.Overall, I definitely recommend this helmet. I talked more about the negatives than the positives in this review, but that's because Anthony already does a great job covering the positives in his videos. Make no mistake: this is a fantastic road helmet for $400. For touring and commuting you need to consider the K5 S.

Lightweight and Quiet helmet. A
31 January 2023

placed the order kind of late in the day (2:30 pm) and it shipped the same day and out of luck it shipped from a nearby location so I actually got the helmet the very next day. As for the Helmet. I've only been able to wear/use it twice on a couple of short rides. Super lightweight and comfortable to wear. Included a pinlock shield which was fairly simple to install. Very quiet compared to the helmet I replaced it with. Overall my purchase has been great. Looking forward to using it often in the warmer months to come.

Aerodynamically great. The material of the liner is soft and very comfortable. My head measured 60cm, ordered the L and the XL, the XL fit perfect.Very happy with the helmet.
