Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the look of the Jordan 12 took inspiration from both the Rising Sun Flag and a 19th-century women's dress boot. The Air Jordan 12 Retro ‘Obsidian’ colorway originally launched in 1997, and this 2012 grade-school version features an Obsidian tumbled leather upper with white pebbled leather overlays. It also sports University Blue branding, French Blue on the lining and heel tab and a white rubber sole with a carbon fiber shank and Zoom Air.
