I recently suffered a traumatic double fracture of my left lower fibula. In denial but unable to bare weight 🤣 I went to the urgent care where they diagnosed the fracture, scheduled me with an orthopedic surgeon, and put me in another boot. At the orthopedist I was fitted with THIS boot and what an immediate difference! The height of this boots protects against rotation, which in my case was the partial cause of injury. My leg feels so much better and is so much more comfortable with it on. It keeps me almost entirely pain free (except for that inevitable evening ache...) and it's also very easy to adjust for individual comfort (or with size/swelling changes lol). I can't walk on it yet so I'm unable to speak to those qualities, but the sturdiness and comfort lead ... MoreI recently suffered a traumatic double fracture of my left lower fibula. The moisture is wicked from the skin but then condenses on the inside of the outer hard plastic shell. There needs to be some type of ventilation around the foot as this can build up quickly under the pads. For now, though, I'll gladly take it for this level of stability and comfort!

I wish I had this from day 1. It really holds my ankle snug, the foot cushion is very comfortable and it is easy to use. Everything about this boot works well. It can get a little tight across the big toe, but it can be adjusted. It makes walking easy. Can I also praise the fact that I rang to alter my order and a human answered straight away and was absolutely lovely and helpful and made the changes happen without a fuss. Also, it arrived so quickly. Brilliant.

Not the sort of product it's easy to 'compare' to similar items because of the context of usage. But after suffering a ruptured achillies tendon and being provided with boot by the hospital which was unduly heavy and quite difficult to apply, I decided it was worth trying something more comfortable and easier to live with, seeing I was facing living with it for several months. The AirCast boot was immediately easier to fit, was nominally lighter and the comfort fit offered by the inflation system made the boot far and above superior to the other product. The support offered in stabilising the ankle also superior. When you have to live with a cast day in, day out for months, the benefits offered are well worth the investment.

The boot was purchased to immobilise and support fractured metatarsal bones. The boot is of high quality and fit for purpose. It provides great protection against accidental bumps and comfort while standing, walking and depressing a stiff clutch in a manual car. Many thanks to Patricia for expediting shipping for this item which was on back order.
It is lighter weight than the old black metal clunker from years past. It goes on quickly and easily. I like that the toe is covered with cushion and am using the long socks, even in summer. The three places to add air are excellent for a perfect fit. My ONLY complaint is personal as I have a bunion. The top piece has to fit inside the side of the boot because of the strap connection to the boot side, so it hurts my bunion. I suggest allowing consumers to buy separately, the piece that lays on top but does not go into the boot side. I have borrowed just the top of a friends to use to relieve painful pressure. If I can buy just the top separately, I would like to so I can return my friend's boot in total to her. Otherwise, it is comfortable and protective and I am ... MoreIt is lighter weight than the old black metal clunker from years past. It goes on quickly and easily. This would have been almost a perfect fit for me, except it is slightly too short for my needs. I have a tibia stress reaction (possible stress fracture) in my anterior mid tibia. This boot does come up taller than that area but only by a very small amount. If it were just a half inch taller it would have been perfect. I was originally prescribed a very similar rigid tall walking boot (Bregg) by my ortho doctor last year for the same problem. I found that boot to be too big and difficult to walk in, even though technically it was my size. It had 4 straps and was a hassle to put on. The AirSelect is so much easier to put on, has fewer straps, and more control of air and tightness in the boot. The AirSelect is so much easier to put on, has fewer straps, and more control of air and tightness in the boot. The sizing is better and it has been much easier to walk in, and more cushioning. I feel the tighter fit made it more rigid which is what I needed from this shoe, with less wiggle room but not so tight it was uncomfortable. I just wish it was ever slightly taller as I felt the end of it almost hit against the sore area of my leg and caused some irritation. As long as I keep walking minimal, it works fine. I was having severe pain resting my feet on the floor at my work desk even with shoes on, but with this boot on the pain went away and it was bearable to work again. It really "lifts" your foot off the floor and provides a strong support. It really is like walking on air, with a nice rigid shell supporting the leg to keep the foot, ankle, and lower leg held in place. I am overall satisified with this product, and I am impressed with the lower price. I paid double this for my original boot prescribed by my ortho doctor. I actually think the quality of the AirSelect is better as the straps do not get in the way of each other and are easier to adjust than my other boot. I feel like it was easier to be compliant with wearing this boot than my old one.
Easy to put on and learn how to use. I'm able to highly control how much air cushion and support there is to find comfort and stability. However when sleeping there's no air bladder or support at the heel. This makes it feel like hard pressure on the heel that can be painful even when resting on soft pillows. Will be looking into adding thin padding and/or thick sock to alleviate.
I bought this boot to help heal a broken toe that wasn't fusing and it has made a big difference. The boot is supportive, comfortable to walk in and easy to put on and take off. I had an issue with the deflation mechanism on one side of my boot but the Customer Services team were able to help me out. Prompt delivery and responsive team. Recommend buying the Evenup Shoe Balancer with this so that you don't walk unevenly.
I literally once hitch-hiked from Michigan to Oregon faster than Source Ortho shipped my product. It took 6 days just for a shipping label to be created. When I questioned the delay, they cited Winter weather. Unless their label printer is actually sitting outside buried in the snow, this seemed like a pathetic excuse.
I have used this product for fractures and posterior tibial tendinitis. Each time it was specifically ordered by my orthopedic doctor. It is comfortable, allows walking as recommended and is very easy to use. The bulbs on either side are used to inflate air sacs by pressing. This provides a snug fit around the heel so there is no slippage. There are buttons below the bulbs to decompress the air when removing or to adjust for comfort. This boot has been a lifesaver for me. DME-DIRECT is a great company to do business with and the customer service is excellent - got the boot to me in two days!
