Great subject and detail, unfortunately let down during manufacture.Significant sink marks present in flaps, drop tanks and fuselage.Would have been nice to have separate flaps too to give an option of lowered or raised.Could have been a fantastic kit, but still these annoying school boy manufacturing defects blighting yet another Airfix offering. Conclusion - Great effort but need to pay more attention to preventing simple defects.

A very sleek, swept winged jet! A great value kit, nicely engineered & detailed. A real joy to build!

Basically, I loved the kit, but there were some serious sink marks on the lower faces of the flaps and wing tips. I will need to carefully fill and sand these to save losing the detail. Is this common to all these kits, or did I get a bad one?

Moulding and panel lines up your latest standards. Nice cockpit detail, undercarriages look nice also. Looking forward to the Chipmunk
This is a great kit for both new and experienced modellers.Great detail in the build and two excellent colour schemes to choose from. The Airfix design team have worked hard to bring this kit to market and we, the kit builders, have a great opportunity to enjoy building this magnificent Cold War jet fighter and adding it to our individual collections.
Great model of legendary Jet. Good to see it in RAF colours, as many forget that the RAF had 430 of them equiping 12 Squadrons . Looking forward to Buildiing it!
First model from Airfix. Impressed by quality and details. Will buy more from them.
I think it's a new mold, the quality looks great not much flashing and good details. I"m looking forward to the actual build!
I can see why some would give the design 5 stars . assuming you want extra detail on gun bays air brakes etc . Eventually it builds into a nice Sabre . If the quality of the moulding was better it might be worth 5 stars . sink marks on the lower flaps and the bottom fuselage ; warped fuselage . means to join the wings as well as they should fit . meant I had to brace the front fuselage to reduce a gap that wouldn't be there . I think those 3 star reviews are more accurate . I give it 4 for because it looks nice when finally assembled . If the production was as good as the design it would be 5 stars . I am sure it would fit together well if properly manufactured . though having more than 2 thirds of the bottom fuselage as one big gap was asking for trouble . Very good. Panel lines a bit too deep, but overall a very nice replica.Unrelated, I would like to request a new tool Canberra B.2., and a new tool EE lighting series, both in 1/48 scale.Cheers, John
