Airfryer 5000. sērija XXL, savienojams

Upon unboxing, my attention went to the classy matte black finishing of the air fryer. While it comes with 16-in-1 cooking functions, I have yet to fully utilise and explore those functions. I started simple by cooking some chicken breast and it turned out perfect; chicken was juicy and not overcook. I thought cleaning would be a hassle but it turned out to be effortless. The non-stick basket is definitely a life saver for someone like me who hates cleaning after a messy cooking. The previous air fryer I had was a nightmare and ever since, it made me to consider twice before purchasing an air fryer. Philips really did a good job with this series. Love it so much and would definitely recommend this to my friends.

This is the best airfryer I ever had. I had 2 different brands and sizes before, but this Philips one is just amazing. Comes with instructions to download the app, and from the app, you can choose recipes and turn on and off the airfryer also to check how many minutes are left. Also, you receive notification when you need to shake the basket. Makes your life and cooking so easy. The basket is huge. Our favorite dishes we tried in this airfryer are: chicken with vegetables, pork, chicken legs, chips, French fries.The cleaning is very easy with little soapy water, max 1 min and it's like new. Doesn't stick at all..amazing quality. I can not recommend it enough. Love it. Amazing purchase.

I have had the original XXL one over 6 years and we still have it but it is a lot heavier than the new XXL and we have used the other one for so long, we needed to get another one. I like it better in that it is much easier to clean, and with no basket in there now, it is deeper to put a bigger chook inside. What I do miss that we got with the old one is what the symbols are on the machine. I like to have a booklet in front of me. I know some symbols and can guess a few but I am not into all this technology to add the app to your phone. I would have thought buying the newer XXL it would be more of the same as the other one but there are a few differences. Some good, some not so good. I am still using it but if not sure, I tend to use the old one.

This is such a wonderful air fryer, I bought one for myself and my mother. We use this everyday and it’s lasted us well over a year. The color and design are sleeks me look great in my kitchen. The air fryer is easy to clean and easy to use. Just simply plug it in and warm it up I am able to cook almost anything and it has changed my life. It makes everything so much healthier. You can even warm up fast food and make it crispier. My favorite meal is steak and baked potatoes. Just wrap the potatoes in foil before cooking. All of my food taste so much better then when I use the oven or frying pan. If you haven’t tried air frying your food, you are missing out! Highly recommended!

High expectations, sadly not met.

We had high expectations for this air fryer after watching a tv programme which showed that the "starfish" design adopted by Phillips would "swirl hot air around to create delicious crispy food". Unfortunately this theory was not bourne out in practice, because the fryer always fell short of its set temperature by 30-40 degrees. We only discovered this problem when cooking jacket potatoes and using a Tempspike wireless thermometer which monitors internal temperatures of what is cooking and ambient temperatures inside the cooker. When cooking at 180c the fryer was only achieving 140c and 2 jackets took well over the 60 minute maximum cooking time to reach an internal temperate of 100c and the skins were leathering and soft. We double checked the cooking temperature with another themometer and took a reading of the inner basket with a infrared thermometer and found that they were fairly consistant with each other. When set at 200 degrees the machine only reached 173c.I contacted Philips, who talked through the standard troubleshooting options which didn't match this problem and eventually conceeded that the item was faulty, probably a missreading temperature sensor. The airfryer was returned after six weeks and the replacement appeared to work and temperatures were closer to the set level, although nothing was really crispy. We had jacket potatoes again yesterday and found the same problem and double checked our findings again. Jackets cooked for this length of time in our main oven would be lovely and fluffy with a crisp skin, these cooked in the Philips were not. I will not want another replacement if it is only going to last eight weeks and may pay the extra and get a Ninja if I can't get a refund.

It Does the Job

This air fryer replaced our previous Philips air fryer which eventually stopped working after many years of use. While this version does feel more powerful there are a few features which I am not fond of. I don't like how the who basket has to be pulled out, before detaching the basket from the tray/handle. It is way too heavy. I also prefer the controls on the older version. The push buttons are slow to react and I just know they will probably be the first thing to stop working. I do however like the tray compared to the previous mesh version. Much easier to clean. It does cook quickly, and the basket is deeper, but I much prefer my previous Philips XXL air fryer.

Not for those who are not internet savvy

Note until you buy the product there is no indication that this is not actually manufactured by Philips! Rather the company bought the rights to the logo. This notice is pretty much the only documentation in the box as It does not come with A user manual, recipe book or even a quick start guide. Rather it pushes you to download the app, which unfortunately requests the ability to share all your details with other unspecified sites (why? All I want to do is use the air fryer!). If you search the app it eventually allows you to download the user manual to understand the various settings and buttons. All of which should have been in the box.Why do I need my air fryer on the internet. Requiring a home network to heat your frozen chips is frankly pointless.As a unit it seems well made, but the fact it isn’t really a Philips, necessitates the use of wifi and has no instructions it does not warrant the significantly higher price than other brands.

It also takes up a smaller footprint on the work surface and is much lighter to carry around, which is a definite plus when counter space is minimal.However, my absolute favourite thing about this airfryer is that both the basket and tray can go straight in the dishwasher for fuss-free cleaning!Overall I really like this airfryer and find it to be far superior to others I have tried. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with any accessories; pizza pan, skewer rack, muffin cases etc. but these can be purchased separately.

I really like this air frying, I've had a couple of different ones before and for me this one beats my double draw one. It was easy enough to set up and connect to the wiifii and once connected you don't need to do it again as it remembers it. Once connected to the wiifii you are able to use an app to pick recipes and the air fryer will set the temperature and time for you. It's a good idea but it takes about the same amount of time to just putting it in manually. A good thing about the app is that you can turn the air fryer on where ever you are, so I've been at work and was able to turn it on and have my jacket potato ready for when I get home. I do like the matt finish to it as when they have a shine finished you can see every bit of dirt and finger prints. The draw is easy to clean as it all goes in the dish washer, I would say that it's quite heavy tho. It says to take the inside of the draw out when dishing up your food so it's not so heavy but if you have something that's abit saucy then that's not a good idea. The basket only has holes along the bottom and doesn't have any long the sides which I prefer. The only thing that I don't like about the basket is that you cant just cook in the bottom without the air flow part with holes like alot of the others, Because u need the handle which is attached to the inner tray it means u can't just cook something in the bottom that is very saucy, it would of been much better if the bottom of the draw had a tray that was removeable. You can buy different basket inserts for the air fryer online tho but I haven't tried them myself. I've cooked alot of different things in the air frier and it's been super easy to use. I would say I use the buttons on the front more than the app. There is a good selection of preset programs and you can up and down the time and temperature if you want to aswell. It's also easy to use eat it all manually selecting you own temp and time. The air frier does tell you when you need to shake the items but some times I find that it doesn't work correctly, this could be down to me opening the draw to shake it with out the alarm going off but I'm not sure on that. The air fryer makes a beating noise once the cook has finished and it will turn it's self off. I've cooked loads of different things in the sor frier all of which have done out great. I did a gammon joint wrapped in tin foil and then for the last 30 mins I took it out of the foil and added my roast potatoes around it. It was all super yummy. I would recommend this frier as it's pretty good and works really well, it's great for big family's as there is plenty of space
