I love these airscape containers. I have three so far and use for coffee beans. I have one for espresso beans, one for Verona, and one for monthly specialty roasts. These keep our beans very very fresh, it’s like opening a package for the first time, each time! They push out all of the air and give a very tight vacuum like seal to keep them fresh. I purchased through Amazon. If you love while bean coffee and grind your beans fresh per cup like us, I highly recommend these! Amazing find!

After your espresso machine and grinder, the coffee beans you use a crucial element in producing that exquisite cup of espresso. Most of us do not live in proximity to a good coffee roaster and the fresh product it provides. In my experience, the Planetary Designs Airscape 64 ounce canister is one way of ensuring that the freshly roasted beans you purchase will retain their freshness for as long as possible. The canister creates a vacuum as you press down on the black lid and the top cover provides additional sealing protection. Short of roasting your own beans I doubt that you can find a better system of maintaining the freshness of your beans. The canisters come in a variety of colours to suit your taste and/or decor. Do not overfill the canister as the top lid ... MoreAfter your espresso machine and grinder, the coffee beans you use a crucial element in producing that exquisite cup of espresso. Nothing beats Airscapes for keeping coffee fresh. The inner lid of the canister slides up and down, which effectively allows you to size the container to almost exactly match the amount of coffee you have inside, therefore reducing the freshness-destroying oxygen around the coffee to nearly zero. It's a simple concept, executed perfectly, and my coffee is always fresh. I normally store whole beans but I've even been able to store pre-ground coffee for many days and it remained amazingly fresh.I am very happy with these canisters.

Absolutely love this container. Really seems to feel like it applies an excellent seal as you can feel the resistance of the air as it is expelled on closing and returns when opening up the plunger. Definitely keeps my pre-ground coffee fresher than just using their resealable packets but was not so successful with some dehydrated walnuts we tried in the container. I think because their was still so much air around the nuts that could not be expelled - whereas with ground coffee you expel a much higher percentage of air.I had worried that the grinds of coffee might clog the fine filter used on the air valve but this has not been a concern.Purchased the larger container (medium / 1kg) as I thought the smallest would be too close to a standard 250g ground coffee bag ... MoreAbsolutely love this container. However it has allowed us to try using the containers (we have 4) for other food products with success, apart from walnuts! I can also store my coffee dispenser spoon neatly in the container too where it is handy above the plunger. So for 250g ground buy the smaller container but otherwise these are excellent for keeping goods fresh.
This is such a great idea! As an avid coffee drinker, I’m always on the lookout for ways to keep my beans fresh, and this container not only does the job but looks very sleek as well. I love it so much I will be buying it for my coffee loving friends. The design is beautiful, and looks amazing in the kitchen counter next to my coffee machine
Great quality and very easy to use. Got the steel version as I wanted to use it daily and wanted something that will be safer if dropped. The ceramic would require some careful handling as i have to lift the canister and move it on the counter every time I use it. This one fits about 250 gms of whole beans. I also have a kilo Airscape for bigger bags and transfer some to this smaller version for daily use. Overall very happy with quality and performance.
Really like this canister. I purchased it for my office coffee station since I take a little longer to use a full bag of coffee there vs. my home. So I wanted to keep the beans fresh. The air inside the canister is pushed out each time you close the inner lid and it adjusts to the volume of the beans inside to minimize air pockets. Nice design! Judging from the smell of the beans that whooshes out each time I close it, this little canister does just what it claims. I'm very pleased with it and would buy it again.
This was my first airscape container, and so far I love it! I bought one to compare to my fellow containers (which I have many gripes with) and I'm switching over. The vacuum on the fello containers only lasts a couple days, then you're left with a poor seal and a lid that comes off way too easily. These on the other hand, have an amazing seal. The 2 lid design feels way sturdier, the lids won't just pop off, and you can tell that there's barely any air in the container. Who cares if it's not vacuum sealed if it seals this well!I have already ordered some larger ones. I started off with the small size mostly to test it out, since I also needed a good container to store some very high end tea for a fairly long time. I started off with the small size mostly to test it out, since I also needed a good container to store some very high end tea for a fairly long time. This one would probably do the trick for a small, premium bag of coffee (or tea), otherwise I would consider the 64oz or even the kilo for a few dollars more.Lastly, it looks and feels very sturdy! In fact, it feels higher end than the fellow because of how sturdy the lids are! I only have 2 minor criticisms, but they are completely arbitrary. 1 is that the matte black gets fingerprints easily (not a surprise) and 2 is that the lid is very thick and so the container fits less inside than you might think by looking at it. Still a good size though. Like I said, I have more on the way!
The canisters themselves look nice and seem to work fine so far in keeping the coffee beans fresh by pushing all the air out. The inner lid provides a tight seal. I ordered two canisters, one of them came in its original cardboard packaging while the other one was not. It was shipped only in a soft bag that's provided by the manufacturer but not in a cardboard box like the other one. And I even found a small dead spider inside it! This is disappointing as the canister could have been dented/damaged in the shipping process (luckily it wasn't) and I was expecting to be sold a new product, not a used or returned one. Unfortunately, I have to give it 3 stars for a used product.
I bought the bronze canister to store coffee beans. What a delight to find this container has a black push down inner lid that draws the air out and a clear outer lid that goes on top of the container. I open both lids when I need to pour out some beans to grind and then brew. It holds more than a pound of beans. There are complaints that coffee grounds spill when you pull up on the inner lid. I have only been using it to store whole beans but I can see how grounds can spill from the suction when the lid is pulled up. It might be a good idea to put the canister on top of a large dinner plate to capture loose grounds and avoid wastage.
