I started purchasing 5lbs bags of coffee from a Canadian company- Rampage coffee - and I was worried about how best to store such a large amount of coffee beans. Two of these canisters did the trick! So happy I splurged on these. They are beautiful and, as described, they have an inner lid that you can push down as far as needed. You hear the air escape as you push the inner lid down, flip the handle to lock it, and then there’s another clean lid that you close the canister with afterward. They would also be great for other dry goods.

These containers are keeping my coffee beans fresh, and are very easy to use. It got delivered quickly and cannot complain about their quality of service! I'm still giving this 5 stars, but I wish both sizes have the same finish, but that's okay! I might buy another 250g so I have one dedicated to decaf. These are highly recommended!

This was my first Airscape canister. Have to say I am extremely impressed and will be sticking with this brand moving forward. The best vacuum seal and keeps my beans fresh. I’ve been using this for my open bag of beans that are still in the packet. My next purchase will be a smaller Airscape canister for my ground beans to last me a couple of days. Highly recommend this brand if you haven’t tried it! You won’t try another

This storage canister is fantastic! I had originally tried the fellow atomos vacuum containers, but didn't like how the seal only held for a few days. The price was also ridiculous and the indicators weren't working. I then tried these airscape containers, and was impressed by the quality and performance. Much easier to clean, available in a bigger size, and well priced compared to others. I have the smaller version (in the picture) and you can see how nice and big this container is! Perfect for storing part of my 5lb bags that aren't in use. It might not create a vacuum, but it lets you push out most of the air, which is better than other brands that loose their vacuum after 2 days and let in a bunch of air!!
This is a big one. I call him Big Tony. You can see from the photos the size difference from their regular container. It’s great, particularly if you buy beans in larger quantities. Built quality seems solid and air definitely gets removed by the lid mechanism. Note that it doesn’t create a vacuum, however, unlike some other containers. Also, I find the 2 kids awesome as you can store a small spoon on top of the air sealing lid but under the clear top lid. Price-wise Big Tony offers a great deal compared to the other Airscape containers. Enjoy!
This is the second time I purchase this product (same color, same size) from the same company (i.e., idrinkcoffee.com). The build's solid, a quality product. Allows me to save some money buying bulk coffee beans. which I can store safely over a longer stretch of time. It stops two (i.e., air and light) of the three elements that degrade coffee (i.e., the third being temperature). Love it.
So I bought the black 1 kg size of the Airscape container.It fits the large bags of beans I usually purchase easily.The quality is very good both inside and out and should be durable being made of galvanized steel.The inner air escape lid/seal slides down on top of the coffee beans nice and snugly, and then simply turning the handle flat/horizontal seals the air out. Pulling the handle upright/vertical again, opens the valve built into the handle/lid so you can pull it up again getting to your fresh coffee beans. No more opening and then trying to close/seal up bags of coffee beans again.The top lid is a nice clear smoked acrylic colour and seals the top of the container nicely.It matches my new Eureka Crono grinder nicely!
I do love these canisters, I have a medium one too. The medium is a better design. The problem I have with the large is the lid. The edges of the lid are quite flush with the top lip of the canister and it's a bit hard to get you fingers in there to get the lid off. The medium version, the lid hangs over the top lid by a few mm which makes it much easier to remove. Apart from that, this is close to perfect. The seal is great, allows for gas build up to escape, the lid acts as an extra seal too. Perfect size for 1kg bags of coffee beans. If they made the lid on the large the same as the medium, with some extra lid to grip, it would have gotten 5 stars. It's a small complaint, maybe I'm just picky.
Great quality finish and keeps the coffee fresh for days. The Kilo stainless steel canister has the inside painted whereas as the smaller versions have the shiny stainless steel exposed. Just wanted to mention that as i thought all are the same. Doesn’t affect the function and its food grade/safe as per information on the box. It takes some effort to pull the lid and i use it to store for longer term and use a smaller one for daily use. Overall very happy!
The Planetary Designs 1 Kg bean safe is a big guy for storage. At 7" diameter by 8.25" high, it easily holds 2.5 pounds or more coffee beans.Feeling like either double wall construction or thicker single layer aluminum, it is finished in very smooth matt paint with a thick rubber pad bottom. The inner seal is a heavy plastic piston with silicone gasket and what seems like a piston vacuum handle when pushed down.
