I received these headphones this past Christmas. I really like them. I use them a lot for different things but mainly at night when I’m playing my keyboard and I don’t want to wake anyone up. The sound is really clear, which is obviously vital. They seem to really block out a lot of background noise. I’d highly recommend them!

The build, the looks, the comfort, all great on this headphone, but the sound is a mix of good and bad. Too much cup reverb masks the sound that is otherwise good, and bass is deep and pronounced but muddied by the cups in need of acoustic treament. It folds flat or folds up like DJ headphones for convenience and includes a storage bag to keep dust out. It does not isolate much, so your surroundings will sonically leak in a good bit. Fun headphone to get if on sale, otherwise, consider alternatives from Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, Pioneer, KRK, or other AKG headphones. The "bigger brother", K275, is well worth it if you go for it. It, too, isolates poorly but has much better sound though less bass boost. Awful microphonics

The headphones as far as I can tell are amazing, however, the cable it comes with makes them unusable. They have awful microphonics, meaning you will hear every time the cable is moved or even slightly touches something you. The shape of the cable means that it will always naturally rest against you, so you will have a constant rubbing sound whenever you try to use them. Unless you are extremely good at tuning out sound, I would consider these unusable, and are certainly not worth over $300 I spent on them. Microphonics are a problem with most expensive headphones, and I have no idea how that is the accepted industry standard.

Claim to be studio grade, but aren't.

I bought these to replace a broken pair of Shure headphones, but I ended up repairing the Shure headphones.The AKG phones color the sound with heavy bass. That's great if you're using them to just listen to music, but bad in a studio. For studio purposes, phones with a flat frequency range are required. Otherwise, the final recorded product will not be equalized properly (there will be less gain where the phones peak, and too much gain where the phones are weak). In contrast, my Shure phones have a flat response.The AKG phones are on-ear phones, where the Shure are an over-the-ear design. Surprisingly good sound and build quality for the price. I've had more expensive headphones that were nowhere near as good as these ones.

The cable...

The sound is fantastic. The specs are definitely better than any other set of headphones I currently own. However, the connector cable is stiff as a board and rubs on my shoulder. The resulting sound is carried up into the left ear can and degrades my listening experience. I am going to try to soften the rubber sheath. I suppose I could try chewing on it, or holding the cable between my teeth in order to keep it from rubbing on my shoulder. It's a shame that some exquisite tech is impaired by a propriety cable. If it were generic, I could easily swap it out with a softer one.

it's okay for the money

sound: on the warm side of neutral for me. generally very pleasing tuning detail: acceptable at the price, but not the selling point of these. if you want a ton of detail at this price I've had great luck with Etymotic iems. comfort: the weakest aspect of these cans. i had these during the pandemic - your milage may vary but I couldn't wear these for an hour without significant discomfort from the on-ear pads, with or without glasses. i think this particular design with on-ears and these pads gets the worst of both worlds in terms of comfort. durability/build: absolutely the strongest selling point. these things are built like tanks, absolutely purpose-built to be chuckable with no worries. it's pretty much all metal, they fold up nice, detachable cables, WOW! This caused the foam to decompress somewhat so I kept them this way for better comfort even though it changed the tonality. conclusion: these are GREAT as portable headphones for short-term, casual listening, but i wouldn't recommend them as something to wear all day at work or for serious, detail-oriented listening.
