These are absolutely brilliant.I have really expensive amp and speakers and these headphones are just as good. Maybe the sound-stage is slightly different. People who moan about the bass are mad. Its probably because they have used a pair before with enhanced bass. I can hear the bass perfectly. Can't believe how good these are for the money. I was worried when I ordered them because I read reviews saying the bass was lacking. I thought well Ill use these then buy another more expensive pair. no need these are fantastic. You hear what the engineers of the audio want you to hear, not false flabby sound.

Astonishing sound for the price. If you want low cost, quality materials, light, comfortable and a transparent sound go no further. The cable is thicker, longer and more durable than most in this price range. The cunning headband results in a set of headphones that will not squeeze your head until your eyes pop out so very comfortable for long listening sessions. I am surprised at the transparency of the sound, using my classic NAD and Sony amplifiers the sound stage is good, bass is thick and detailed, the highs are crisp but not sibilant. Mids are perhaps slightly muted but a little EQ sorts that out. These are closed back and leakage is minimal, but they don't suffer the boxy sound that often comes with low cost closed back headphones. Overall the sound is ... MoreAstonishing sound for the price. Highly recommended, for the price these are excellent value.

It turns out to be a common fault. Come on guys what's going on. It's not the only akg with that fault. No one is perfect. But a constant fault with headphones numbers are growing. Your microphone are great with barely any faults. Come on.

Good sound, inferior functionality
14 April 2020

The K52 produces a nice and detaild sound, and lock out the surroundings pretty well. But, the wire is too long and have been twisting itself from then I took it out of the package. I've done many attempts in different ways to make it straight and untwisty, but no - it doesn't give up.After about 1.5 year the right ear stopped working. I went to my retailer store and got a new pair, since they had a 2-year quarantee. Now that's about 2 years ago. The wire of my new pair behaved the same as the former one. Now the right ears just have begin to loose.

Great budget Audiophile Headphones
6 June 2023

For budget, over ear, closed headphones these are really good! Balanced sound, comfy ear cuffs and sturdy build for low cost. Really good starter earphones for an audiophile, but of course there are more expensive headphones that will give a better sound! My only issues are thay they are rather unconfortable for someone with ear piercings (Specific but important for rockers, you know if you know haha) These become uncomfy after about half an hour but this is problem for most cuffed headphones unfortunately.... Furthermore, despite being very well built they are still 'cheap' so i wouldn't throw these in your bag or case. However, overall these are brilliant! So I definetly recommend!

Sounds good but could sound better. And could shut out outer noise more... but for 50 euros it is very very good! It's also sitting well on any head shape or form due to the design. Will buy it again in the future (if I need a new one)

Great monitor headphones
11 April 2019

Bought this recently and I was happy with it. I tried it first using it for listening to Spotify, it's decent. Maybe because it has a large driver, the volume needs to be increased way up to be able to get a clear clean sound. It can articulate very low bass and all layers in the song track can be heard very clearly. I think it's a little strong in the mid frequency. Then I tried using it as a monitor listening to my keyboard, it sounded really good. I tried it again by listening to my electric bass via my amp... It's awesome! I can hear details in the tone of my bass. At some point, I forgot that I was wearing a headphone, instinctively thinking that the amp speaker was doing it when it's clearly not! Oh, the extra long lead and the adapter plug is a definite plus ... MoreBought this recently and I was happy with it. I tried it first using it for listening to Spotify, it's decent. Okay, these were not the most expensive headphones but after trying so many lower cost headphones I am finally quite happy with the sound quality and more than anything else, the light weight comfort from this over there ear auto adjusting headband. Very comfortable and they don't retain the heat as much as other styles. They sound great for a budget pair of headphones and reproduce my music nicely.Pros:Price is low.Comfort is king. Really good headphones!
26 January 2021

I bought these headphones about a year ago, so I can tell you a lot about it. First of all, I like this large size. There is no pressure on the ears. Secondly, it is a long and flexible wire, which is a big plus for me. And most importantly, the sound that is the BEST for the money. Perhaps the sound in these headphones is the most detailed and lightest of all that I have heard. As for the disadvantages, I want to say that it is impossible to replace the wire if you damaged it. When it comes time to buy new headphones, I will choose from AKG. Thanks a lot!

Very good for transcription and video editing
24 April 2019

I bought the AKG K52s because I need to do quite a bit of audio transcription combined with video editing. My previous headphones, Logitech UEs, fell apart -- after 10 years of use. I wanted a "neutral", studio-style headphone, because I frequently encountered a situation where I could not understand a word or phrase I needed to transcribe, and I realise the "bass boost" on most headphones were contributing this this problem. For the price, the K52s are remarkable. The ear cups are almost comically large (I have fairly small ears), but they are very comfortable, and the build quality seems high. The sound, for transcribing and video editing, if very, very good. I also like using them for watching video shows on an iPad.
