This hat is quite comfortable in the heat due to the unlined feature. The vent holes probably help as well. The hat is also good in the rain.
This hat is amazing!! Even though It fit well when I first tried it on I used one of the foam inserts in the front of the brim. I wear this hat every day working outside and when wearing it to town I get tons of compliments on it. I love Akubra's the first one I bought when I was in Australia in the late 80's. It no longer fits and have been waiting to find one to replace it. I found what I was looking for in the Riverina I really like the wide brim. I really glad I found David Morgan!! Thank you so much!!

I got this hat because of the large brim. We've been getting triple digit temperatures for 46 days straight! Record settings Temperatures even for the our desert 🏜. Far southwest Texas is brutal and this hat has saved me from sunshine and rain. Great quality fur felt, better than most Stetsons I own, I liked the quality of Akubra so much that I purchased a cattleman in sand color. Phenomenal product from Akubra, and speedy service from David Morgan. Highly recommend Akubra fur felt hats and David Morgan.
Just the best hat. A little big for air travel but doable. I use it for every day wear, for working, to keep the sun off my head. It may be the best hat for keeping the sun off your head and face and neck. I really love it and might even order another color someday.
I bought this hat for my son who is working in Argentina and is an accomplished fly fisherman. The Riverina appears to be a second generation by the same name. I have an older model with a narrower brim and a little fancier trim but the newer model is a better fit for outdoor hiking and fishing....and keeping the sun off your face and neck. Over my 80 years, I have purchased 5 Akubra hats and one Panama David Morgan hat. I was pleased to buy this new Riverina from Will Morgan which made my purchase special and my son loves it.
This is a great hat for wearing outside all day long. The wide brim is excellent for keeping the sun & rain off my head. It is comfortable, feels great & I really like the Akubra Australian style. It will last a long time and remain serviceable and fits really well.
