Positives - Near Perfect, gaming at 240Hz (didn't try 280hz) in Counter Strike 2 was immense. It felt like playing CS 1.6 back In 2003 on a CRT monitor everything felt so responsive and instant. You would think that there would be a soft lock on the 0-90-180-270 angles, but there isn't one, so the display easily tilts away from horizontal.

Wonderful monitor with amazing color accuracy. I use it for video editing as well as gaming, the high refresh rate makes this monitor a treat to be on. The RGB is limited which I prefer, I don't much like having to pay a premium price for "Gaming" peripherals especially when it's overdone with unnecessary RGB. So for the price, it's a great balance of gaming and business. Really wish there was thunderbolt support... and USB-C instead of the outdated USB-A, I'm sure the methodology behind that is more money even thought the cost of USB-C is about the same in context. Alienware 27†AW2723DF. This review is for folks thinking about moving up from a smaller monitor. I upgraded from an old dell 24: ultra sharp, 2408WFP, this has been a great monitor. Being Older I worry about eye strain. Using just the edge browser font settings, only affected some of the text, but not all of it. Reading web pages was hard, but the edge font setting seemed to help. I tested a few games, those looked great! no issues. Made many older games look even better than my other monitor. Patience and fiddling with settings is key. Moving the monitor forward and backward, to get the right distance, and learning what all settings you need to play with can make all the difference. Now most things look better, are slightly bigger, including my desktop stuff, and easier to read. For Reference, I built this Rig march 2023, it has a z690 board, i7 12th gen, an Nvidia RTX 3070 to drive the graphics. Things to play with: Edge browser settings, under personalization, custom font settings, 2 sliders to adjust Second setting, is a global windows text size. This one helped a lot. Go to windows Settings, and it is under Accessibility, Text size. This changed many menu type text sizes, that browser font settings would not. You can also change global scaling from 100 to 125, which will make everything larger. I have not needed to do that, and should be a last resort . For those with an Nvidia graphics card, use the Nvidia control panel to fine tune brightness, contrast, gamma, and Digital Vibrance. The Alienware/Dell display manager, use to get them close, and then your video card utilities to fine tune. Now, after about a week , I am just loving this new monitor, and now am wondering what 32in 4k would look like. Also, those wondering curved or Flat, I now get why curved is a good option, if this was any wider, it would induce some eye strain looking at the far corners. This is only slightly wider than my old one, so its fine, but a 32 in or wider, would not be a good experience for me personally as a flat screen.

Again, the overall experience on this monitor was a truly pleasant one, and you could end up being the lucky person that scores the best of the batch. I was looking at a 4k OLED 32" screen but since I need two monitors l, two 32" screens just would have been too much. And since I'd be doing productivity work such as excel and word, as well as Teams and other chat windows open consistently, I chose to go with an IPS screen. I also went to almost a 27" 2k screen as my 970GTX just won't be able to handle that resolution in the games I play. I don't think it is bad enough to send it in under warranty. If dark blacks are important than go OLED. I just didn't want to deal with possible burn in issues with OLED since I will be using them for work most the time but wanted a nice gaming monitor. I am pleased with my dual 27" Alienware monitors. The 600 nits of brightness is really bright, so I have it dimmed a bit. Note that external speakers are necessary for this monitor though. Aesthetically great as well if you care. Small details, but really like the thinner borders and lack of branding on the borders; very clean. I don't use the stand but if you want logos, of course AW is never going to skimp on that. The issue with USB type B then becomes finding the right extension to support the monitor's USB 3.2 hub, to utilise its full potential. Again, minor gripe, but something to keep in mind, should you insist on the fastest USB speeds out of the hub. In conclusion, anyone wanting to properly cable manage their rig will likely need to keep these things in mind, as any extra cables are extra cost, unless you have good cables lying around.

The smoothness of the way you can pan camera really does make the game environment more immersive and feel more like real life. I didn't feel i needed to increase the refresh rate to 165hz.Although, some pixelation is noticable compared to a 24" monitor I did not really feel bothered by it because it allows you to better see what make up the actual image, i guess it just satisfies the technical minded aspect of my personality. I did notice aiming at targets in game was easier as a result of the bigger screen size compared to 24". Overall, I felt this is a very decent monitor.
