A 240Hz refresh rate is 4x faster than typical standard monitors and twice as fast as common 120Hz gaming monitors. More frames means smaller visual information Gaps, which means a faster reaction time for the Gamer. There's a 8.3 millisecond gap between frames at 120Hz, which is halved to 4.16ms between frames at 240Hz. This is incredibly important to gamers playing at breakneck speeds, and provides an edge over gamers less well-equipped. Combined with skill, get more wins by being able to react in real-time. Amd Radeon free Sync technology synchronizes the GPU and monitor, displaying full frames only when the monitor is capable of displaying them. This minimizes graphic distortions such as tearing and artifacts from forming on screen, allowing you to experience native refresh rates up to 240Hz for rapid-fire, tear-free Graphics that don't require user adjustments. A wide-angle viewing range means that color coverage is consistent no matter which angle The screen is viewed from. This is thanks to the IPS technology that the monitor is built on. Convenient monitor controls are easily reached on the right side of the monitor, with a new joystick for navigating menus quickly and intuitively. The individual buttons can be assigned as shortcuts for the gamer's preferred tools and settings. The true 1ms response time blasts away motion blur. The pixels are able to change quickly and respond to the new image signal as it comes in. This is a new feature for IPS monitors, which have typically been considered too slow for gaming.

Absolutely love this monitor! I had a samsung g7 and boy did it give me so many problems like screen tearing and stutters constantly... it also had terrible popping sound whenever anything was connected to its 3.5 port. To save myself from constant agony I purchased this alienware monitor. I was a little worried about going from 1440p to 1080p but I was extremely surprised that this IPS panel looks better and produces much nicer color than VA panels. I love how this monitor looks, alienware has the best looking monitors and PCs period. It's g-sync compatible and worked flawless on on my rtx graphics card. No more screen tearing, micro glitches or stuttering, screen blackouts, etc. Smooth FHD 240hz gameplay. I love the color accuracy and the overdrive options... I stick to super fast which is perfect balance for my gaming needs. I am able to use alienware FX right from my PC since I connected the monitor via the included USB cable and it's very convenient to use alienware fx for everything right from the pc app to change colors etc.Overall this is the best monitor I've owned. The audio pass-through works great with my speakers, the style is futuristic, rgb looks awesome, gameplay smooth with no issues, g sync compatible, awesome colors and viewing angles thanks to IPS, zero dead pixels on the unit I purchased, well built, great size for gaming, great connectivity options. Oh and I can confirm it does 1080p 120hz on xbox series consoles via hdmi. All cables were included which was awesome as well.It doesn't do HDR but that is OK with me cause I don't really use HDR since it seems to wash out colors unless it's a hdr panel that can really get bright enough to do proper hdr... usually expensive oleds or panels rated at least HDR1000.For the price I bought this it's a total dream. I will be sticking with alienware monitors from now on. In the future I'd like to see a 27 inch, 1440p, HDR1000, 360hz display... that would be awesome for the future to go with rtx 40 or even 50 series cards... but I'm jumping way ahead of myself... for right now I'm loving this monitor and all its features... Excellent clarity, great response rate when paired with Alienware laptop with RTX dedicated graphics. No dead pixels. Not a gamer except for intensive minesweeper action- handles with ease, still handles all my aesthetics and productivity needs. Back end where all the cables go is difficult to remove and reattach, but manageable even if you use a lot of connectors of the included hub. Works well with standard VESA mounts. Used for 3+ months with no issues. Packaging is superb. Keyboard and mouse connected through USB hub. Will get a second for my L-Shaped stand-up desk to replace older monitor for full Alienware setup. Good to go.

Broke within 10 minutes of use... Twice in a row.

I'm not touching this product ever again though.

Great Refurbished Monitor
10 September 2022

The monitor works excellently! There is some cosmetic issue, but nothing major and no screen issues at all. The top part of the menu toggle stick on the back is broken on mine, but it does not affect the functionality of the stick itself. Everything works flawlessly and is what I expected of a refurbished monitor. I would have given five stars, but the packaging itself could have been better. It was basically just laid in a box lightly wrapped and taped up. The box was not even what I would call a good quality box. I suppose it can speak well to the overall build quality, and toughness of the monitor itself.

Great but there is some QC problems
20 January 2021

I'm reviewing the Alienware 27" model (AW2720HF). HF stands for High Refresh rate for anyone wondering. My specific model was manufactured on October of 2020 as per date on the Box.I'm a casual gamer for most part, we are talking Diablo 3, StarCraft 2 and occasional ARPG/JRPG games from Steam. The reason I purchased this monitor is because my older one a 32" Curved Acer monitor was problematic since day one of ownership, it had poor color contrast and at times light grey elements would essentially be white. Not to mention it was 75 MHz refresh rate and utterly paint full on the eyes (in physical sense). So I purchased this as an alternative since I do spend long hours in front of a computer screen, either programming or engaging in Cybersecurity. As such my tasks are a bit more specialized.Overall this monitor has much better colors then my previous one. Calibration will take time to get it up to your taste. The refresh rate that my current rig can pump out is 120 Mhz, which is a shame as this is supposed to go to 240. But there isn't much you can to on a GTX 1050.Here is where the problem starts, and by problem I mean complete lack of care and QC. You see this monitor may have a high pitch whine, this has been documented numerous times on different resources and Dell's own support forums. This seems to be caused by the RGB's so you will need to dim the RGB's 50% or turm them off, otherwise you will have a high pitch whine that get's annoying after awhile. Especially if you are sensitive to sounds. So far I'm happy outside of the RGB being a bummer, but whatever. I will keep tabs as there have been claims that after some time using this monitor it may burn things onto display. So if that's the case then that is not good.

Great monitor for a reasonable price,
28 November 2021

A very nice gaming monitor with a great price. Had a BenQ monitor that finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. It was a great monitor but it was pushing 8 years old. When looking for a replacement I really couldn't find a monitor that fit into my budget. I checked all the usual places and quite a few online and for a good gaming monitor I was looking at a $400 price tag for a similar sized monitor like the BenQ with about the same features. That was until I found the Alienware AW2720HF, low $300 price, faster refresh then the BenQ, higher resolutions, more connection options and just more features overall. A small side note for the first time since the late 90's I have an all-matching rig now, all Alienware. I know that's generally not a big deal with gaming PC's ... MoreA very nice gaming monitor with a great price. Had a BenQ monitor that finally gave up the ghost a few weeks ago. I know that's generally not a big deal with gaming PC's but for the price of everything overall (it actually would have cost a little more to Hodge Podge everything) it's just nice and easier to keep everything software updated and to be able to finally use the ACC to it's full extent.

High End gaming for better Refresh Rate
15 August 2022

I bought this high end monitor on sale. I currently used this for my PS5 and for my computer as a secondary monitor. The refresh rate is good and clean. The picture quality is great, I'm currently using it as 1920x1080 resolution. Some people want more like 2K or 4K resolution but I'm good with 1080p. There is no lag input or stutter. I love the fact that you can change the color illumination from the monitor to your personal taste.

Just Perfect!
3 May 2022

After a small hiatus from Dell to give the new Samsung monitors a try (G9 and G7 Odyssey) I came right back to Dell/Alienware. I'm sorry at this point I can firmly state Dell makes the best monitors period. Nobody else offers the support quality and duration Dell offers. They just flat out work perfectly right from the box without any fuss or driver issues. The Samsung monitors were a nightmare to use and kept flickering and the OSD failed after less than a month. Absolute garbage service and support too. Frankly, do yourself the favor and buy these bad boys for any use case you might have. They work flawlessly and look great too. Gaming performance is epic as well. Zero ghosting, tearing, stuttering, or artifacting.

I very much enjoy my Alienware monitor I work in the field of IT and had also recently purchased a souped up XPS desktop (Gaming specs) for my house and wanted to maintain brand loyalty this one was very reasonable price and on sale. The Alienware 27 monitor is quite heavy as it's metal but this isn't a bad thing it was easy to set up and felt exceptionally sturdy the display (A trait I like in monitors I don't like plastic) it looks nice and clear and the 240hz is absolutely fantastic I could instantly tell the difference (I have used 60,120,144hz in the past). It has some lights in the back which look great at night time casting a cold blue glow on my wall. I would love more products to write reviews about 10/10.

Solid 240HZ Monitor for HD Gaming

Pretty solid 240HZ Monitor for gaming at full high definition. The response time is astounding, with a constant of 1ms thanks to IPS. I haven’t noticed any screen tearing throughout reasonably constant use over the course of a few months, either. The LED backlighting is handy as I usually edit or game under lowlight area, however, the onboard controls and the according AlienFX software could be more user-friendly for ease of customization. The tilts and swivels work perfectly, although the mount which is advertised in the “features” part of the page isn’t very easy to figure out, if wallmounting should be an option for you.
