The positives are light weight, great looks (subjective of course) and the wireless 2.4 GHz connectivity is clear on mine. The headset also works well in wired mode. The negatives are echos I can’t get rid of when using the headset in Bluetooth mode. I couldn’t make the echoes go away, no matter what I did. I really wanted to use Bluetooth mode because I don’t have to plug the included sensors in, and battery life is much better in Bluetooth mode. I had to take off one star for this flaw. I feel with its flaws, the price should be significantly lower.

The sound quality is Excellent. The pin point directional sound once you download Dobby is impressive to say the least. The deep base makes you feel submerged combined with the noise canceling feature. unlike popular opinions, I felt the head set fit comfortably snug and never has given me a problem with ear discomfort even after multiple long sessions of use. I found the touch sensor to be very responsive when using the commands, but at times they go off while I'm adjusting the headset for a more comfortable fit or when putting it down. Aswell as the most concerning issue that was brought to my attention from people online as well as friends saying I sounded muffled. Constantly being told to use my old headset because my mic was such a downgrade from my headset was quite frustrating. In the end because I enjoyed the fit and sound quality so much from this headset I ended up getting a desk mic to compensate for what the headset was lacking. Spending more do to a lack of performance was not particularly ideal, and I probably would return the product if I were to find my self in a similar situation again.

First off, the good is that they sound good and the noise cancelling is excellent. I haven't had issues with wireless connectivity in probably 10 hours of use. I have not used them for chat or phone calls so I can't comment on the mic.My concerns are with comfort and wearing them for more than an hour or so at a time.I understand this is highly subjective and others don't seem to have issues so I'm not lowering my rating much because of this. I wear glasses and they do dig into my temples a bit. Also, even at the smallest size adjustment these are a little "tall" for my ears and I with they could be adjusted a little smaller. I guess I have a "short" head? hahaOther nit picks are that the ear cups are a little too small/not plush enough and can cause the ANC ... MoreFirst off, the good is that they sound good and the noise cancelling is excellent. I wish we could buy a thicker foam/fabric version of them. And the leatherette material does feel warm and not extremely breathable, again something that could become a problem after wearing them for a while.I also wish they came with a case instead of a pouch, or at least had a case available separately.Just to add, I have the AW720H headset as well and by comparison I find them much more comfortable.

I've been using the headset with my new Alienware laptop for about a week now. It is very comfortable on my head and ears during 2 to 3 hours play sessions. The spatial audio sounds great and the subtle noises in games really stand out. These are also great for listening to music or steaming tv and movies. I rewatched the Star Wars Andor series getting in the mood to play Star Wars Outlaws and the sound quality was amazing. This headset never got too heavy on my head or made my ears feel uncomfortable while wearing it. The build quality is great also.I would recommend this headset to anyone for gaming, listening to music, or watching movies and/or tv.
I enjoy the wireless headset, its comfortable and the noise cancelling feature works great. The mic has a red light for when its off which is a handy feature, and there are touch features on the ear peice its self. The software however is VERY fustrating. Every morning since I've bought it the headsets software says it needs to be updated. Since I am not my admin I have to wait to have them come and try to update the software. I have had them enter their admin passwords in on the initial window whenby computer starts up but then whenI attempt to update the software the button seems to not work. At that time the button seemed to work since the headsets lights started to respond it took about 5-8 mins before it stoped flashing but did not give a conclusion window simply exited out of the update window. The next day it appeared to need the same update again. ALSO, the headset will verbally tell me that it is low on batter whenit stillhad 60% left, and attemptto go into battery saving mode. Itis extremely irritating because the software shows it is NOT low battery. I would liketo see thisfixed or some way to updatethe software because this is becoming a pain while at work. I've wasted too much time trying to update a program that will not respond when the start up pop up is confirmed by my admin. Highly impractical for a work computer that the owneris not the admin.
I guess the best way is to have my pros and consPros: these are much lighter than the aw988 and cheaper in price. I like the noise canceling feature. they fit very tight to your head. The built in mic is sensative to pick up room noise, suggest to use the seperate mic attachment. the sound is very clear and I can walk around my apartment and still hear the sounds, except in some parts where there is metal piping between the headset and the dongle. The bluetoorh pairs without issue to my phone.cons: the ANC; it doesnt remove all the noise but reduces the room noise enough to be noticed. the battery life of 55 hours is just if you bluetooth it to your laptop or phone (cant do both with the dongle & BT) and have to have the sound at 50%. Since I use the headset for listening to TV and my laptop game at 100% with the dongle, the battery life is about 8-10 hours. Because I wear glasses, the tighness of the headset can cause some iscomfort, l Ihope DELL sells the rubber ear cups as a part to buy as I can see wearing this out with the extended usage. I do miss having the pull down mic like the AW988 as you cant do that with the seperate mic attachment. for me personally the equalization is a little on the bass side but some like it that way. I prefer a more mid range to middle treble. Using the Alienware Command Center has its issues too. battery info is different on the different screens and I cant use the equalizer. when I select it, it changes my system to the build in speakers. 3rd party equalizers help a little.OVERALL, I would buy another one because I like the headset, the price and quality and the privacy i get when playing my online games and not using my 3 speaker system and waking my neighbors.
Pretty darn good headset. To my tired old ears, the sound quality is good. I wear mine for both listening to music & TV, as well as (with the AW name, well, Duh!) gaming! LOL!! About the only complaints I have are as follows:1. The pads on headset are too small for my entire ear to fit inside, so my ears get squished and sore. And no, I don't have particularly large ears nor do they do the Dumbo thing.2. There are no bass/treble controls. My hearing isn't the best (Armorer & Machine Gunner in the Vietnam Conflict Era of the USMC. Lots of loud banging!) Being able to adjust the B/T levels is always a good thing; separate controls for each side of the headphone would be Ace!3. The dual microphones...I've found that turning off the boom mic *DOES NOT* always turn ... MorePretty darn good headset. To my tired old ears, the sound quality is good. The dual microphones...I've found that turning off the boom mic *DOES NOT* always turn the mic inside the headset off! I've been embarrassed several times as I mumble, grumble, and swear to myself out loud, thinking the mic was turned off. And my team mates or folks in the gaming area were exposed to .... um, shall we say, Salty language. As many non-active-duty Marines find, our language stays "salty," even though years or decades have passed since we were last on Active Duty. LOL!!!Anyway, after twiddling around with settings in my computer, I found the right setting that usually shuts off both mics, and I don't often have to go back and twiddle around again. All in all, I'd give a qualified 'do recommend' for the purchase of the headset.
First off, the sound quality is really nice, especially with Dolby atmos. The multiple connection options is also very convenient. The touch feature is also very nice although it seems to be only on one side. I haven't used it much yet, but the AI noise cancelling seems to work very well. All that being said, I would not recommend buying these at full price unless you had points like I did or some sort of discount. The material on this headset feels very fragile, it does not give me the impression that this headset could take the occasional accidental fall. The foam used for the ear padding is the soft kind that rips easy or will eventually start coming untucked. The foam used for the ear padding is the soft kind that rips easy or will eventually start coming untucked. If you have larger ears, this might be a snug fit; it would be nice if there was more space around the ears so that they weren't directly touching the edge. They do charge quickly, but they don't quite last as in long gaming sessions as others headsets I've tried. The detachable microphone is also a huge concern, as it means the jack will be vulnerable to wearing down every time you need to take it out or if you decide to use the cord. Its also kind of annoying that the microphone jack is the same jack for headphone cord. The built in microphone is not so great either. While having the lights on is aesthetically pleasing, it would be nice to have some sort of built in switch to turn them off without the app to save battery life. All in all, I would recommend getting a cheaper headset or (if you really want these for brand or collection purposes) waiting until a big sell. You're not really missing anything and there are much better headsets for less.
Bought these to replace a heavily used, but still-working Bose headset. This time, I needed a bit more “mic access” with quality since I started working remotely where I verbally speak a lot. I’m still getting used to the wireless capability vs always a direct wired connection to my headset. What I have found is that the surround sound is beyond belief. Something that I’ve never quite heard out of good quality headphones. It’s a bit techy for simple headset, but I’m finding myself falling into these more and more each day, as modern tech grows - tv / video / streaming, etc. Listen, for its price, you can’t beat a deal like this. It’s worth every dollar. And I critique heavily at times.. You cannot go wrong with these. Absolutely no complaints.
These are so comfortable; I sometimes forget that I am wearing them. They do a wonderful job of noise cancelling. Getting a bit older, as I am, it's great to be able to adjust the volume to a comfortable level and not have to worry about anything being too loud. The base response is great. I am already planning on ordering these for Christmas presents for my grandkids - who tend to play their video games as if no one else is in the house. So why buy something that is subpar? For me, this is better quality then others I have looked at, and it's Alienware . . . what's not to love?
