I recently purchase an induction cooktop and chose All Clad Brushed d5 to replace any incompatible pots and pans. This low rise saucepan has been a revelation to me. Another poster said perfect size for empty nesters and I agree. I use it almost daily. I have had no problems with pitting or discoloration, but I don't use it on the highest heat setting.

Bought pan to replace cooks essential set we had owned for long time. The pan requires less heat and it heats very evenly. Food cooks better than previous cookware and is less likely to burn or overcook. Well worth the price and is very easy to clean. The Bar keeper's friend makes it look brand new and is easy to use.

I already have 2 All Clad D5 saucepans: a 1 1/2 qt and a 4 qt size that I have used for several years. While I have not yet used the 3 qt, I am expecting the same even cooking, and easy clean-up (except around the interior rivets) as my other 2 saucepans. This is a lifetime investment which makes cooking more enjoyable.

I bought this saucepan on sale and got the brushed stainless, which I'm VERY happy with. I have always purchased the stainless prior to now but really like the brushed better. The saucepan heats evenly, lies flat on my stove without warping and cleans easily. I absolutely love it due to it's quick and even heating.
The All-Clad pans are well-made and function very well. I do have several gripes which I wish they would attend to:First they do not offer glass lids which in this day and age seems just silly - they are so much more practical. Second there is no suitable pan for scrambled egg - why are none of the pans non-stick? Third, whilst I love the look of the brushed stainless steel, the range is very limited compared to the brilliant finish: I would buy more if the range was as broad, particularly a small pan for cooking for one person.
I first got the 2 qt to use on my side burner on my Weber Summit. A bit of overkill but it was on sale at the time. Loved it so much that I added the 3 qt also currently on sale to the mix. One thing that I wanted All-Clad offered, a steamer basket. Works beautifully. The brushed stainless is outstanding. We do everything from Tomato Soup to more complicated sauces. We love Texas Tamales and the steamer works great for these, perfect fit.
I have used All-Clad for several years now and recently gave my daughter my old ones. I replaced mine with a set of the brushed stainless steel pans. I absolutely love them especially the weight. But the best part of all is that they are made in the USA. I try to be selective on my purchases and whenever possible buy American made even if it costs a little more. We should all do this.
Great item to have in kitchen especially new empty nesters. Perfect size for two. Durable and solid with even heating. Can't say enough except had to get another for beach house. Did I say also made in USA!
After using the 3-quart brushed stainless for poaching on medium heat, the interior developed small spots. Used dishwashing liquid and Bar Keepers Friend with a kitchen sponge but the spots remained. All Clad says this is not a reflection of the quality, material or workmanship, At the price point, All Clad’s is subpar compared to the quality and design of Mauviel and other brands of cookware.
These saucepans are a great disappointment. I wish I could return them. After following all of the directions, such as allowing water to come to a boil before adding salt, and cooking at lower temperatures to avoid discoloration, one pan showed signs of pitting from the salt and the other discolored. They were used just a few times. I purchased Barkeepers Friend and used as directed to clean the pans - to no avail. I expected so much more from All-Clad, considering I have a small saucier that I have used almost every day for several years and it is in excellent condition. These saucepans were purchased to replace cookware I received as a wedding shower gift 50 years ago. I wish I had kept my old cookware.
