The actual colander is beautiful but the one I received sits a little crooked. Thats A LOT of money to spend on something that isn't perfect. I definitely didn't expect that. I feel like quality control should be better.

Great colander. When you want to separate food from boiling water it does the job perfectly. Good heavy duty construction. Wife said it’s really beautiful. I don’t quite understand it but ok. She likes it. Pretty or not, it works for me. I like her pasta dinners.

I bought this product a few weeks ago and I love it. This Colander is perfect for small, medium or large amounts of food. I eat fresh vegetables everyday and I love washing my veggies in the Colander. It is beautiful and you can feel and see the Quality, which is very important to me.Purchase this item if you need a colander that is going to last forever. The 5 Quart is just perfect!
LOVE IT! No more flimsy, fine mesh sieve. This is Top quality, heavy duty stainless! Holds a lot of seasonal fruits for washing & prepping for food storage OR cooked pasta for a crowd! It is large & heavier than a a plastic strainer. It can withstand high temperatures; NO MORE worrying about MELTING the cheap strainer.
The All-Clad website shows the all American story of how they started in Pennsylvania and are still made in America of American metals. This is not true for everything and the website is misleading. I called and they basically said they will look into providing the proper information on the site. I am sure they won't change it. The colander is beautiful but I am going to return it if I can find one made in America. For this reason I give it 2 stars. Very difficult finding stuff made in America.
I like to have the best when I choose bed, bath and kitchen items but this was a disappointment. First, the 5qt option is too large and heavy for storage. Takes too much space in cabinet and too heavy for hanging. Second, the rim is not wide and open like in most colanders. It’s oddly narrow and tall. Less space for getting in there and washing foods. Third, and the most disturbing is that the interior is not finished like the exterior is with the glossy smooth stainless steel. The interior is a horrendous brushed steel that you can expect your raspberries to be ripped apart by (with the sharp razor like edged holes) if not your hands when trying to wash the berries or other fruits and vegetables! Sturdy and elegant. I've been waiting for a sale on the 5 quart colander and am so happy that I did. The colander is more sturdy and drains much better than the less expensive colander that I have been using for years.
I've been cooking with this cookware for well over 15 years and I can tell you it's effortless. No hot spots, easy to clean, nothing sticks EVER! This 10-pc. set covers all the bases. You could stop right here. But for me I find 3 additional All-Clad items have proven to be useful additions over the years, they are: #1 The Roaster with Rack (turkey, roasts, casseroles, lasagna), I use this regularly. #2 The Pasta Pentola though I now use it infrequently because I've found the 3-qt covered casserole (included in this set!) is just the right size for soup, sauce, and pasta when cooking for 2-4 ppl. The Oval Bakers (set of 2) are essentials; I use them constantly for individual entree portions, sides, and baked desserts. I purchased my All-Clad stainless colander at least 5-6 years ago. I just purchased two more for my daughters for Christmas. They are going to throw away their existing colander because this one is the best and they will never have to replace it. My colander still looks brand new and I don't mind hand washing it even though it can be put in the dishwasher. I use it almost every day; either in cooking or just sitting on my counter with fruit in it. I just like seeing it sit there all shiny and pretty. I love All-Clad and keep adding to my set.
