The kindle was great no issue there. My issue was, i have always been a kindle user and I am aware that there's free kindle unlimited when you buy a brand new kindle. so when I set up my Kindle and signed up for kindle unlimited (supposedly free) I was charged 730 php. little help from cs. I got in touch directly to amzn since cs here is ewan and amzn is the opposite and they decided to refund my money but no free kindle unlimited. it will have to be processed by this store. cs here said they raised the issue and i havent heard back. ill update this review if or when this has been fix. at the time of this review, I'll tell you that the offer for kindle unlimited is not real.

A lovely birthday present

4* may be a bit nit picking but there are a couple of things that are irritating. This Kindle replaces a very old one I've had for years that eventually stopped holding a charge. I really like the 'warmth schedule ' that can be set either to come on automatically at sunset or set manually. Being able to read at night without a light on is great. The touch screen makes turning pages and changing font size nice and easy and after 3 weeks the battery is still half charged.However, it should be easy to toggle between having the Amazon suggestions (advertising) on or off. I've read that Amazon charge for switching it off but I won't bother as it's easy to ignore. My major gripe is not being able to move books I've read out of the library on my home page. Best investment

I'd had an old original kindle in the past but haven't read so much in years and it was too outdated. After lots of recommendations I decided to treat myself to the paper white version and I read almost daily now. The screen has just the right brightness to read in the dark and I don't feel like I'm straining my eyesight. Easy to connect to the kindle store and find books at great prices. The battery life seems to be lasting forever from its first charge and it's so lightweight and a good size that I'll use it a lot when I travel without having the bulk of books. Love the fact I also received an extra year guarantee. Delivery was fast and efficient. Well worth the investment.

Doesn't live up to claims

Well, for glare-free reading outside it's great, but indoors, some artificial lighting causes some reflection. Library browsing has improved over earlier models but navigation around features to change settings etc is poorly structured and clunky. The big let down is the battery life is nothing like the claimed up to 70 days. I'm finding it's closer to 7, that's running at half brightness, battery saver on, Bluetooth off and using it for nothing except around 3-4 hours reading a day. I didn't expect 70 but as it's designed to be used as an e-reader for long periods I expected more than I'm getting. I can only think that the claimed life is for standby or a few minutes reading a day. Great digital book reader

This is the first Kindle I've had and I am really pleased with it. I was a little reluctant to buy an eReader as I like the "feel" of a proper book, but I am now converted to the Kindle paperwhite.Setup is simple and speedy and it's so easy and convenient to buy books via the Kindle app. The paperwhite is smaller and lighter than a book making it easy to hold when traveling and/or reading in bed. It has an adjustable warm light and the battery life is excellent. And being waterproof takes away some anxiety using it around the pool on holiday or in the bath (lol)If you have any doubt about purchasing the Kindle Paperwhite (11th Generation) don't it's really versatile a good gadget to own.
