I have been buying Allbirds (19 pairs), and telling all my friends about them, since the Companies inception. The pair of Men's Tree Flyers - Natural Black (Blizzard Sole) - 13.5 I purchased back in May 2023 have "Squeaked" incessantly since I first tried them on. The shoe is comfortable, but the noise has become such an issue I rarely wear them because of the annoying sound they make with every step (in both shoes). I have been planning on sending an email to see if I can exchange them for another pair, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Then this morning I received the review request and decided to take the time to make you aware. I would be very interested in someone reach out to me to explore possible options.

These shoes are not easy to put on. They are meant to be "slip on" but they are nowhere close to slipping on; they take work. This has been difficult because I hurt my left foot this summer and it aches while putting on the shoe. That being said, once the shoes are on, they are FABULOUS! The shoes are light, fit beautifully, and provide great arch support, especially for my injured foot. I wear them all day teaching and look forward to wearing them in Italy. Also, they look great, definite style!

I would like to start off by saying that I have never owned a pair of allbirds before I bought these so I cannot compare these to any other allbirds style shoes. I got these as general purpose activities shoes (shoes I could do pretty much anything in) and for that I think they work great! They have a very sock-like fit and are fairly tight to put on, but with the pull straps on the shoe its pretty easy. They are very bouncy and lightweight making them great for walking or some jogging. They have a good ground feel and are just fun to wear. The only reason this gets 4 stars for me and not 5 is while they are great shoes and you CAN run in them, I would not say that these would be my ideal choice for specific running shoes. They are a little heavy and unresponsive ... MoreI would like to start off by saying that I have never owned a pair of allbirds before I bought these so I cannot compare these to any other allbirds style shoes. Ordered them as they were on sale with not much expectations. The sizing works for my feet as I have narrower feet. I generally wear women’s sizing between 9 and 10. Ordered these in 9.5; perfect!Didn’t need to break them in. I use them for my workouts in the gym. Very comfortable, and provides good support. I would highly recommend them.
This shoe is a beautiful looking design, color that is lightweight and fun to wear … once you get them on your feet. I had the same problem with my previous AllBirds sneakers but decided to give the Tree Flyers a go when I saw the little pull tab on the top of the heel of the shoe. Maybe it’s just me, but it’s a struggle every time I put these puppies on. I have cracked heels (TMI) and it is really painful and time consuming to just put them on. Once they are on, they are great. Maybe AllBird’s engineers should buy a pair of Sketchers and see what makes that so easy to engage?
I’ve owned 4 different pairs of Allbirds, all 4 of them different types. I love Allbirds and I continue buying from them because they are an environmentally conscious company. That being said, I was super excited when I saw this series come out. I ordered them and was very impressed with how quickly the order shipped. Unfortunately, I’ve only had them for about a week and they are already showing signs of wear. The sharp edges at the bottom of the shoe are very cool looking, but mine are definitely wearing down already. I’m not rough on my shoes at all, it’s just inevitable in this design. Also, there is a spot on the front of the shoe where it is clearly visible that my toe is wearing down the cloth of the top of the shoe. My last pair of Allbirds did this as well, but it took close to a year for that to happen. I keep my toenails trimmmed and filed but that doesn’t seem to matter in this case.Overall, the shoes are very comfortable and I love how they look, but they are NOT designed to last. Being the most expensive mens’ shoes on this site, and that they are running shoes, they should be far tougher than this.
The shoes lack a heel lock to prevent excess rubbing and slipping to prevent blisters. The shoe strings are very slick and come untied even when one double and triple ties them. They are fashionable so I wear then to work as part of my athleisure wardrobe. My foot is very narrow. The shoes felt okay the first couple of days. After a couple of breaking in days, slippage prevented me from running in them. As a casual "go to work shoe" it's okay. On both of my feet after wearing the shoes for a full work day, the sesamoid bones became very irritated, red, and hurt. Probably because the toe box was too large for me.Coach TXC/Track Coach 25 years experience, life long runner
I bought the Men's Tree Flyers for $160 about a month ago. I've mostly been working from home, not going out too much. I'm not very active, I've worn them less than 10 times mostly for walking and driving, and the foam sole is already starting to look frayed/fuzzy. The black rubber part under the shoe also squeaks really loudly on marble floors (e.g. at the museum) which is kind of obnoxious. Separately, on some laminate floors (e.g. one of the restaurants nearby) the shoes are very slippery - my old Nike's don't have this issue and neither do my wife's shoes at the same restaurant. Not super happy with the shoes given the price but returning them seems like a hassle (and I'm 1 day away from the 1-month mark). It also feels wrong to try returning them given the condition they're in now, even though I've barely worn them. They're ok in terms of comfort - nothing extraordinary compared to my old Nikes (which cost around $40). They look nice.. for now.
I have multiple pairs of the Tree Flyers and each of them have over 300 miles on them. I typically run in Hoka or Brooks. So the runability of Allbirds was a pleasant surprise. The shoe provides a stable platform. The midsole is a little firm but has plenty of energy return on toe off. I have run tempos at 5:30/mile pace and long runs of 16 miles and they have performed well in both and anything between. The build is neutral, but it has stability elements when combined with the eucalyptus knitted upper. The ankle collar takes a little getting used to, but it helps prevent heel slip and hugs the foot. The shoe is a little loud on foot strike, but that's just because of its snappy midsole. As a long time runner, Allbirds wouldn't be on my radar for serious running ... MoreI have multiple pairs of the Tree Flyers and each of them have over 300 miles on them. After many miles and hours on these shoes, I would suggest to anyone in the running/jogging community to take a chance on Allbirds Tree Flyer. Bonus is their small environmental impact and unique use of natural materials.
When I first saw ad on Instagram I was skeptical because my feet are very sensitive and I have all kinds of feet issues. But this pair at the La Jolla store because they said I had 30 days and I thought for sure I would be returning them because like I said my feet hurt all of the time. These have pleasantly surprised me! They are legit! They are wide enough for my front foot bones and cushioned enough with perfect mid Arch support. Amazing shoes! Recommending them to all of my friends who have feet issues and who just love a good looking pair of shoes in general
