These were so soft you could chew them straight out of the packet. It has been a while since I had one (well before the name change) but they used to be much harder so you could suck on them for a while and shape them etc. perhaps the formula has changed

A big tick for the name change but not as good!

The taste I remember from childhood was extremely tangy raspberry and your mouth went bright, bright red etc. The new version is just not quite the same, sadly.

Allen's Red Ripperz

I was lucky enough to taste test Allen's Red Ripperz, but unfortunately they were not to my liking. They're very chewy, but hard and stick to your teeth like crazy!

An oldie, but a goodie.

This one has changed across the years. The initial taste was not there, but it eventually came through. Trying to break this or bite this was impossible. Just fit the whole piece in. Chewing just sticks to the teeth, but as a lolly that lasts and has a nice flavour- this is the one. I did like this new version and you can’t stop at one.

Chewy

I tried this product for the 1st time last week. Its very chewy, was easier to eat bit by bit. Nice flavour.

With the same stickiness intense enough to rip out a filling as I remember, these were tasty and satisfying to eat. They didn’t have the same amount of raspberry flavour as I remember which was disappointing though.

Fantastic, just like the old days

These have been around forever with different names but the same awesome flavour. Plenty in the bag to go around, and the perfect hard chewy texture. Highly recommended!

Great flavor but poor texture

Red Ripperz definitely on the sweeter side and it’s full of raspberry flavor. However the downside for me is the first bite is very hard to chew (literally hard!). Then as it goes softer in your mouth after awhile, it’s get way too chewy and it stuck all over your teeth. I do not like lollies that stuck on my teeth. Older buyer should beware of chewing the first bite. And younger children should beware of teeth issue if the lollies stay stuck on their teeth. All in all, texture needs to improve significantly for me to try it again. Will be even better if Allen’s starts to produce no artificial flavors lollies in future.

Classic red ripper which everyone loves. Love the large packet size, which also lasts a long time. Great taste.

Love these

I am a massive fan of these from my childhood and was excited to try them again. My only quibble is they are too hard and I felt I might lose a tooth at one stage. Thi k they’re best stored somewhere sunny so they soften a little to maximise enjoyment and save on dentist fees.
