The all-new SM5 helmet is the result of more than five years of intensive study, development and testing. This lightweight helmet features a thermo-injected shell incorporating a special polymer blend enhanced by varying degrees of thickness that is engineered to deliver the optimal combination of impact protection and light weight, while the five density EPS liner ensures the correct density in the correct area for enhanced impact absorption. Other key design features include an engineered raised area with padding to effectively reduce the forces transmitted to the collarbone and a patented visor release system that ensures the visor is released with the correct pre-determined amount of force, irrespective of the angle of impact.

Way too small. I always wear a medium and this is uncomfortably tight. Also the cheek pads are falling out from the first wear.

Not a terrible helmet overall for the price, but there are some things with this helmet that are annoying. First of all, it fits small despite following the measurement instructions on this website and even ordering a size up! So take it from me and the others on this review board that the sizing is small.Given that the helmet fits small, if you use a communication set in your helmet, you need to factor that into the sizing as well. I use ScalaRider and the earphones are right up against my ears, making the helmet hard to get on as my ears fold up on the earphones every time. I also prefer to ride with earplugs in, and I haven't even tried that yet, but surely that's a no go with this helmet. I moto tour through Central America and if you're on and off the bike a lot, comfort of putting on/taking off the helmet is important, in addition to riding comfort. Putting this thing on is a pain (literally) so this will not work for me.Lastly, there is little airflow in this helmet. Revzilla warns you about this in the product overview video, but I can also confirm that it doesn't breathe very well after using this helmet one time on a hot day.If I hadn't already popped the tags off and took this helmet out for a trial ride, I'd return it and look at other options. I'm probably going to have to sell it "like new" on eBay and take a loss. But, hey, I have integrity enough to not pull a fast one on Revzilla by returning it as new. Overall, this purchase was a disappointment for me personally.

Super lightweight and comfy. Love the black rayon design. Can’t wait to use the water hooks. Not a lot of space for comms. Wish the strap was a ratchet, but I get that this is marketed towards dirt only customers.
Helmet runs extremely small. I normally wear a Large helmet but had to go with a XXL. Other than that the helmet is fine
I love this helmet! The graphics are sweet! The colors rule! Its lightweight. It has good ventilation. The padding is sufficient. shape really molds to your head. And for $200 it's affordable. Oh, and its modern styling is DOPE!The last thing I want to do is hit it against anything so that's always good.Honda-ish colors are few and far between in helmet-land so I'm pretty stoked!Sizing was spot on to 1cm small (so add 1cm to your Mellon) in my experience.I measured in at 58cm which is a medium. 1cm bigger 59 is a large. So I got the large and it fits "comfortably" snug. (My last helmet was a medium and was a "tight" snug)Perhaps if you're a little over weight the helmet seems small passing your ears and tight in the cheeks?.I'm a skinny guy so its shape lends ... MoreI love this helmet! The graphics are sweet! Helmet overall looks good but did not perform well. I had a low speed front wheel wash out and my head made contact with the dirt. Immediately got knocked out but was able to get up. I understand that a helmet is not going to 100% protect you but riding woods/trails and having a low speed fall is a given. This did not stand up to expectations. Spend the extra money and get something else that can absorb impact a little bit better.
Fits well, feels light and supportive. Exactly what you’d expect from Alpinestara
This review is because of sizing, all my helmets are medium, couldn't even get this on my head in a medium, so go up a size if ordering, also still waiting for my refund so I can order another helmet.
Normally wear a XL in other brands. I couldn?t even fit it on my head in a XXL. Sized way too small. Should be labeled a youth helmet.
