The most severe rain I met on my trip couldn't penetrate the Drystar rain jacket. This is perhaps the best motorcycle jacket I have had in two decades. I know it will also protect me and keep me dry or cool in my next week adventurous trip from Finland to Estonia's TET-routes. Maybe some pictures later...

Beautifully constructed and thought out pants that have two major flaws.

These are very nicely constructed and thought out and matched my Halo jacket perfectly. I loved the venting and it also comes with suspenders (which was a nice surprise that I didn't see advertised anywhere during my research)However, I ended up returning my whole Halo jacket and pants set because the mesh inner liner seems just thrown in there. It's comfortable but shifts around like crazy. The biggest issue though, is the knee - I mean *shin* - protectors. They sit way too low! I thought about trying to undo the stitching and move them up 2 inches, but then you'd have to unstitch the entire inner mesh liner (there is an access hole to remove the knee pads but its barely workable)I also would add that the size small is almost perfect as an overpant, but a bit ... MoreThese are very nicely constructed and thought out and matched my Halo jacket perfectly. Also, I wish they added more white paneling to match the jacket more. I hate how 90% of moto gear is always black on black on black (too hot!)Unfortunately I'm too OCD and want to have a perfect set of gear, I don't like mix and matching, and especially when I'm spending this much money, I need it to be dialed! The knee pad issue basically broke the entire deal for me, which was a bummer because I truly did want to keep the set, I loved the look and features of everything!

Horrible knee fitmenf
8 July 2023

Same as other reviewers. I'm baffled by the fact Alpinestars would make such a well designed and thought out pant and then make the knee armor such a complete oversight. The lining is super loose and baggy so the knee armor shifts all over, and sits way too low. I'm very average sized and the top of the knee armor just barely grazes the bottom of the knee cap. When I bend my knees to sit in riding position it digs into my kneecap. Also, these are a bib and have suspenders built in which was nowhere in the description or photos? I'm actually okay with that but was surprised when I got them in person. Anyway, it's all a moot point because they're unwearable due to the piss poor knee area design. Sadly had to return these along with the Halo jacket and tech 5 airbag, because I need a complete set that works together. Astars missed out on about $1200 and lost a potential customer because they seem to have got about 90% of the way there with the design and then just?gave up?

I like them

Great for warm temperatures so far. Comfortable. Plenty of vents. I'm a 33 waist and a large fits well fit a little bit a room for pants underneath.

Knee armor is more like shin armor
19 June 2023

The knee armor is too low and sits on your shins. I thought about holding them on my knees with an external strap below the armor but why should I have to compensate for the poor design of $350 pants? The sizing is also way off. I wear 2XL in most brands and the 2XL of these pants were too tight. I returned them and do not recommend them.

Most comfortable riding pants I own.
25 November 2023

These pants are great for me. The cargo pockets let me carry a few things with me. In my other riding pants I couldn't sit on the bike with anything in my pockets. The knee pads sit a tad low off bike but on the bike they are spot on. Wear a 33 waist pants the large fit me perfectly with a little room for something underneath if I wanted. I am 5'11 180 lbs for context. Have to update when it gets hot outside but so far not bad in 80 degree weather. I live in south Florida so anything will be hot during the summer. I just wish they had a lvl2 hip armor option. Hopefully Alpinestars will come out with one. The hip armor that is in there I can't feel it all on the bike. Odd sizing and kneepads
11 June 2024

I usually wear a 32 and I ended up with a Large. The XL was too big and bulky/wide, the LG was just barely big enough.Kneepads are definitely in a weird spot. Feels good when sitting - feels too low when standing.

Poorly Designed Liner & Armor
27 May 2023

I wanted to like these pants, but they are not designed well. The inner mesh liner is very loose and moves around too much, but the main issue is the armor and the pocket that holds it. The opening in the armor pocket is about 2/3 up from the bottom of the pocket and there is a thick Velcro piece holding the pocket shut. This means that when you sit down, the Velcro lump is right across your knee cap. Even without riding in these pants, I found the Velcro closure was uncomfortable. The armor is also not pre-formed to the knee and ends up being lumpy on the sides. Returned these pants.

Swing and a huge miss on sizing.
26 April 2024

Returned. Sizing is awful. Too small in the waist. Too long in the femur/ quad, too short and narrow in the shin. Knee pads hit the shins. Just a total strike out with the sizing.Pants would be incredible if the sizing was right.
