I've had the 1st generation tech 10 and it lasted 7 years went to SG 12 after that. Was going to get the 2018 tech 10, but decided on the new tech 10. Glade I did. The front flexion really works. It's like compression damping to slow the flexion down nicely without sudden stop. Helps to keep you from going over there bars. This is definitely a lot slimmer and lighter boot compared to the SG 12's and better feel on the pegs, especially on the balls of your feet. And when in the arch the steel plate let's you push hard on the pegs with authority.Really happy with these boots they flex better than the old tech 10's an fixed all the old issues.-m-2011 KTM 350 SX-F--

Best boots in the game. I broke both of my ankles wearing different boots and I'll never not ride with my Tech 10's now. Best protection you can get. Some break-in time helps with comfort but I didn't have any issues on my first ride with the boots and didn't feel hindered by the stiffness at all.

Didnt take long to break in only downside they arent the most comfortable for walking the pits but you cant have great protection with great flexibility. Buckles are the best on the market. I bought these boots about a month and a half ago. I have bad ankles so I was looking for boots that had great ankle support and these boots have been awesome. I have over jumped and came up short in them and the ankle support was awesome. Furthermore, although they have a bit longer of a break in time, they where still supper comfortable during my first ride. The boots are a bit heavier then my old instincts, but I honestly hardly notice and the grip on the new sol is unbelievable. I’m a rider who likes supper sharp foot pegs and found that I almost had too much grip with these new boots. All around I would defiantly recommend these boots to anyone.
These are good looking boots, to be sure...with a pic tag to match.I purchased these to replace my Tech 7's, which I really liked, but were pretty trashed. I have had two pair of those.I'm giving the Tech 10's three stars for one reason: the fit is just too snug (and hot) with the inner bootie design. I thought the fit would be close to the 7's. It isn't. And because of the bootie insert, the boot is larger than its equal size in the tech 7. It feels big and bulky on your foot too. If you like the feel, sensitivity, and comfort of Tech 7, I believe you'll be disappointed.
Best Boots Money Can Buy!These boots are not your broken in out of the box and worn out in 50 hours of riding garbage you'll find elsewhere. They're stiff and require some break-in time but once they're broken in they're slippers and you'll never wear anything else! They also grip the bike super well and the grippy portion doesn't wear out in a couple rides like other boots. If you're getting boots for free who cares but for those of us that have to pay for our crap I'd much rather put my money where it counts!

That is not an issue with these boots. My only complaint is the soles. I only got 15-20 hours out of the left boot sole before it was chewed up and needing to be replaced. I reached out to Alpinestars to see what a resole would cost, and they said didnt have the soles in stock and they werent sure when they would have more. I ended up shipping my boots to Factory Resole out of California and they put Sidi soles on the boots. I have had great luck with the resole, and it looks like Ill be able to get far more hours out of it than I was the original Alpinestars sole. Would like to see ... MoreMy favorite boots Ive had. I discovered that it's way easier for me to keep the bootie inside the boot and then slip my foot in. Overall these boots were worth the money. If you off-road an adventure bike and plan to hit some really nasty stuff, definitely consider the Tech 10.
Bought these boots two weeks ago. Went for two rides in them and the outer part of the boot already has a tear through it. Pretty disappointing considering they are $600. You?d think a boot that costly would be a little more durable. Contacted alpinestars and they offered to repair the boot at a charge and also I have to cover shipping. Said that?s normal customer wear. At that point I?m going to have another $100-$150 in the repair. Other than that the boot is great. Just sucks that they aren?t going to hold up.. Will stick with my SG12?s and instincts moving forward..sorry not sorry alpinestars.
First set of Tech 10s, usually wear Sidi SRS 3s but these are awesome boots the downers from my experience so far is they are stiff and need break-in which isnt that big of a deal plus they tend to feel bulky at times but the pros of that feature out weigh the cons. Other than that the support is amazing they absorb impacts insanely well, I personally have great feel of the pegs, shifter and brake lever. Feel like I can lock onto the pegs a lot better. Its easier to stand up and get in that aggressive riding position. Awesome support (had reconstructive surgery on one of my ankles) Im sure I could go on and on being this is only my second time riding in these boots. But so far I would defiantly buy another pair. Pricy but way cheaper than a hospital bill!
